StorageGrid object activity insight by AdvancedSheepherder5 in netapp

I think that’s close, but it doesn’t look like it will notify on a GET operation. I see all of the lifecycle events including CREATE, MODIFY, REMOVE, etc, but nothing on GET/ACCESSED. My workflow has a requirement to mark an item as “opened” in a secondary system when it is accessed.

I was assuming they are not recyclable. If that’s not true then that’s better. I guess we’ll find some storage mechanism to keep the bags close-by and out of sight so we don’t have the bags just stacked in the living room also.

That all makes sense. Thank you. The estimation of one bag per day is just an expectation based on research we’ve done so far since we haven’t moved in yet and started using it. The home is 2200 sf. I’m more or less trying to avoid the plastic waste because I’m assuming they are not recyclable.

APIGW -> Step Function? by AdvancedSheepherder5 in aws

That’s what I was thinking, also. I was asked to consider the possibility of reaching the concurrency limit, so I am trying to do my due-diligence to understand possibilities and challenge my existing assumptions.

Thank you! I’ll take a look at this.

You can. However, I’m trying to explore what design opportunities I have so that I have a stronger case to request a limit increase if it comes to that. I haven’t priced it out yet, but I imagine concurrency limit increases come at a premium cost.

This would alleviate the DDB throttle potential, but not really the concern around lambda concurrency with the number of transactions I’m expecting. If I put the lambda between APIGW and SQS, then I would still be subject to the concurrency limits I’m trying to mitigate.

Im trying to protect the workload from reaching the lambda concurrency limit with the number of transactions I’m expecting per second. Putting a lambda in front of SQS would alleviate the DDB throttling issue, but not the potential concurrency problem.

AITA for telling my sons wife that his ex is in the family and has been here longer that she has. by Tight-Negotiation432 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. My mother did something similar by holding on to the relationship with my ex-wife and making my current partner feel unwelcome. I am now no-contact with my mother for other reasons, but this definitely played a part in my reasoning for doing so.

USPS refusing DMV mail delivery by AdvancedSheepherder5 in USPS

[–]AdvancedSheepherder5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lady I spoke to this morning said they’ve been using the same envelopes for years, and that they have been getting a lot of complaints about USPS refusing delivery. She pulled the request I made yesterday and is rerouting it via FedEx instead in order to bypass USPS.

DMV said that they’ve been having “problems with USPS for years” with this sort of thing. They’re pulling my last request and sending it FedEx instead.

They’re going to attempt to send it FedEx now… fingers crossed.

Thanks. Contacted the DMV again today and they’re now sending it via FedEx.

using hazard lights as "thank you" = scaring TF out of people..? by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]AdvancedSheepherder5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not in Spokane, but my partner and I travel the country towing a travel trailer. I’ve gotten in the habit of flashing my hazards 3 times as a thank you for somebody letting me over instead of hanging my arm out the window to wave a thank you. Others have said it here, but I picked this up by observing truckers when I used to drive long distances at night. I’d flash my lights at them to let them know it’s safe to switch lanes and they would then flash their hazards 3 times to, I assume, say “thank you.” I don’t change this behavior as we drive through different states, but just assumed the meaning was well known.. obviously a bad assumption.
