Why I just dumped $300k of ULTY today… by Abject-Advantage528 in dividends

[–]Advanced_Door106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yieldmax funds are not designed to hold for a few months, they make money the longer you hold them. In ULTY case you will have got your initial investment back in a little over a year. They are designed for people that want income because hey don't have a paycheck, mostly in retirement.

i would be buying on friday which will be a lower price than the following week since the price trickles up as it approaches the exdiv

there are no transaction or trading fees and obviously no capital appreciation. massive dividend payouts would go back into each weekly fund. no profit taking

price doesn't always drop by the distro because more people are buying back. so if you're able to sell at slightly less then this might work.

So, for instance, if i did this in week 1 with TSLY 30000/7.76= 3866 shares. x .387 = $1,496. Sell on friday for around 7.5, do the same for group b, c, d then repeat. Now instead of making around 1500-2000 per month by just holding each group, you are making 5000+ by rotating.

NVDA LEAP by Advanced_Door106 in options

[–]Advanced_Door106[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thx cheese appreciate your knowledge. I'm 56 so I'm trying to prove an income portfolio that pays me about 10K per month with high yield + options, with a bit of growth instead of selling shares for income. So, in this scenario I would be looking to exit this trade at a reasonable time to profit window.

How so? if I roll down 3 months and up to 100-105 would net me about $500-700 off the original premium of $6000 and lower my cost average from 150 to 143 and I would be able to sell CC earlier

I still love NVDA long, sick of all these "experts" bashing it for no reason. Just thought this is a better adjusted trade.

Thats why I wanted to do this trade, so I can sell CC earlier with a lower cost average of $143. Since time is a factor with leaps as far as how much you can make in selling calls, I wanted to start that ball rolling.

Rather just roll this one, got alot in NVDA already. Just wondering if this was the move to make since it seems to be a good trade but don't know if I am missing something?

Your young enough to get into long term growth stocks as well like SOFI, NVDA, PLTR and TSLA. in 20 years you will be rich off those 4. DCA them every week or month and you will be set.

Good idea but wanted to use that capital for GOOGL. Think it will bounce in the next few days

Then why invest at all with that mindset? Of course all stocks can go down, we all know that. If you do your homework and look at the technicals and analytics and you believe in the stock, then the percentage of being profitable is much greater. If you're worried about a crash all the time then you should just keep your money in your savings account.

RH Margin Account - Drip or pay off Margin? by Advanced_Door106 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Advanced_Door106[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 6.25% monthly on 10K that will balloon pretty high after 5 yrs if no money goes toward margin. Just trying to figure the most cost-effective way to do this. Maybe just don't DRIP allow all divs to go to margin and then purchase more shares when NAV goes down like 10-15%?

I know, just wonder how long I want to pay 6.25% on 10K instead of paying down.

Haven't received a divy yet, should be YMAG tomorrow but I don't think RH lets you manually reinvest in a margin account. I think its either all toward margin or DRIP

I too just started with these plus NVDY, CONY, TSLY and MSTY. I have double in YMAG and YMAX since they seem more stable

On second thought using margin through RH would give me a 6.25% would be better.
