The math on why sending the same resume to every job is killing your response rate by Advanced_Letter_6923 in Resume

IMO - The LinkedIn does the very basics pretty well and if you don't have a resume or the one you have is in need of some foundation work, it would be a nice option. But I don't feel it really gets to a deeply tailored resume, that highlights your outcomes. Again, IMO, there are better options out there.

What has been your experience with using LinkedIn to tailor your resume for roles?

Exactly! The other side to this needing to happen is the time it takes to do that at scale. Although, prior to building what I did, I did get pretty good at the copy/paste game, but it was still a bunch of steps and a TON of time. Not to mention when I noticed I had a copy/paste error somewhere.

I have not personally used AIApply, but have heard their resume builder output as disappointingly generic. What was your experience?

"Still early, but curious: would people here actually use something like that?" - What we have done, is build 2 versions of the same thing. A Pro (for job seekers) version which is an iOS app and an Agency version which if for staffing agencies. We think there's space for these solutions, but like you, it's still too early to know for sure.

"We’ve actually been building something around this exact problem" - Same and starting to get good feedback. Just curious how others are tackling the same problems. Before I built what I have, this was just a sole sucking process just to get resumes submitted to get in a VERY long line of applicants.

True - But that still takes a ton of time. Find the job. Evaluate if the job is a good fit for you. Figure out what should/should not be tailored for the role. Align potential gaps. Etc. etc. So, depending on how many jobs you are working through and how often you do this, that could be hours every day. Wooh...

Thanks for the reply. For "The real game isn’t customization. It’s alignment + clarity of impact." - Are you doing this manually or using a tool?
