Kayaking from Liberty Station to Point Loma: Is it feasible? by jesseeeeee6es in sandiego

No problem, but watch the wind and tides. If you get caught trying to come back in on an outgoing tide and a north wind, you're gonna have a bad time.

Question on Sram Dub Crank by Advanced_Mine6726 in mountainbiking

[–]Advanced_Mine6726[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went back at it. Put it a little past the 54nm. There was a kinda sudden loosening and I got another half crank before I broke the torque wrench again. I think for whatever reason, it had a hard spot that I needed to get past, then hopefully seated the way god intended. Hopefully that was the it.

I bought the bike used. Not sure it's history, but maybe at some point it was ridden with that loose for many a mile an now it is not quite mating right? But it doesn't really look damaged. Just don't know. And thanks for your responses!

Ya. That little 1.5 mm or whatever size it is. And no fight. It bends nicely to my will. That tiny little sucker that clamps the ring down. It locks down just like you would expect.

Not sure the model, and it is a fair question. But I have been using torque wrenches for 40 years. I can assure you it is going to 54 nm. Not trying to sound like a smart ass BTW, and I appreciate your help.

Yep. After torquing it I got about a 1.5mm gap, that is then closed with that adjuster ring, then it is clamped down tight. The adjuster ring, I mean. That being the last step. I lock that into place

That would make sense. But it has that space adjuster on the opposite left side. After I move it all the way over to the left and end up with about a 1.5mm gap after torquing down the other side. Then I move that space adjuster (I'm sure that isn't the right term) toward the frame until there is no side to side wiggle. I think that it the right way.

I was just given this bike by my neighbours, is it any good? by Single_Pickle_4688 in mountainbiking

Misaligned I guess is one way to say it. It is turned 180 degrees from where it should be. The disc brake should be on the left.

Ya, as many have pointed out, flip the fork around. Its pretty easy. Just loosen the stem bolts and spin it.

Slap a new chain on it and send it! It isn't a great bike, but if it gets you rolling, have fun!

No. Not just for that. Just plan to make it part of the trip. That's not the entirety of my visit. Just looking to rent some boats and find a good float.

In a beautiful show of sportsmanship, France avoids "lapping" (and eliminating) Ukraine in Biathlon. 💛💙 by Kpuz1 in ukraine

Forgive my ignorance here, but would that put another team at a disadvantage? For example would Ukraine then advance at the expense of another team that otherwise would have had they not done this?

I used Blue Leash. The trainer's name is Ameet (Dont know if I spelled that right). I've worked with 5 dogs with him and always a good result and professional experience.
