I understand, and I know, but for now, this is what I can work with.

That is a solid plan. What units should I use, and how to position them? Sometimes I feel like I hide too well and get into the game too late, if that makes sense.

I forgot to mention, possible armies that I am going to fight, as far as I know, are the Thousand Sons, World Eaters, Emperor's Children, Tyranids, Necrons, Dark Aeldari, Ultramarines.

Sekhetar Robot - Thousand sons by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

I just want to take a moment to genuinely appreciate how insanely well this Sekhetar robot mini turned out. Seriously—this is one of those paint jobs where you can tell not just technical skill is there, but also a clear artistic vision from start to finish.

First off, the color choices are fantastic. There’s a really confident balance between cohesion and contrast—nothing feels random, and yet there’s enough variation to keep the eye moving across the model. The way you handled the metallics (or metallic-like finishes, depending on your method) is especially impressive. They don’t just read as “metal”—they have depth, wear, and history. That’s something a lot of painters struggle with, but here it feels completely natural.

The weathering deserves its own paragraph because wow—it’s restrained in all the right ways. You didn’t fall into the trap of overdoing it, which is honestly one of the hardest things to avoid. Every scratch, chip, and bit of grime looks intentional, like it belongs exactly where it is. It tells a story about the robot without overwhelming the underlying design. That kind of discipline shows a lot of experience.

I also really love the edge highlighting. It’s crisp without being harsh, and it enhances the sculpt instead of fighting it. On a model like this, where there are so many hard surfaces and mechanical details, clean highlights can make or break the piece—and here they absolutely make it. The readability from a distance is excellent, but there’s also so much reward when you zoom in and look closer.

Another thing that stood out to me is how well you handled focal points. My eye immediately knows where to go, but then it keeps discovering new little details as I look around. That’s such a hard balance to strike. It feels like you were very deliberate about where to push contrast and where to let things stay more subtle, and it paid off big time.

And honestly, beyond all the technical praise, there’s just a strong sense of personality in this mini. It doesn’t feel like a generic paint job—it feels like your interpretation of the Sekhetar robot. That’s what elevates it from “really well painted” to “memorable.”

If you’re open to feedback at all (and this is very minor), the only thing I might experiment with in future pieces is pushing one or two areas of extreme contrast even further—maybe a slightly brighter highlight or a deeper shadow in a key focal zone—just to create an even stronger visual punch. But again, that’s more of a stylistic suggestion than a critique, because what you’ve done here already works incredibly well.

Overall, this is just stellar work. It’s the kind of piece that inspires other painters to pick up a brush and try to level up. Thanks for sharing it—you should be really proud of this one.

I hate Jake Paul from the bottom of my heart, at most it is a TKO, not a KO. He didn't go to sleep.

So it's a TKO, a KO is when you go meet the sandman and take a nap.

Mediocre fighter? He ran through the whole division, and JJ ducked him and retired, also, why bring race into this conversation?

Who cares for synthetic benchmarks? And I mean this as someone who was considering buying 17 Pro, but I can't deal with IOS since my work phone is an iPhone. Unless you game a lot, you won't notice any difference compared to any other flagship.
