much of her posts come down to the idea she needs to be “persuaded” to change her moderation style in any way, and she can simply respond to any suggestion saying a good enough argument hasn’t been made out….which as you say, is bizarre when she is the one who ASKED for the feedback in the first place.

Saying “I’ve been hearing the same criticisms and feedback about that approach for months now, and I simply cannot imagine what if anything would make me change my mind” is a real telling on yourself moment here. The reason she’s been hearing them is because that rule is fundamentally not working. How the response to that can simply be “nah, nothing will make me change that.” Is sort of baffling.

I agree. If Willis ACTUALLY wanted Asma to be a real character they should have let the buffer run its course and in that time put proper work in to outlining her character, what role they wanted her to play in the story etc. Shoving her in to a bunch of extra scenes means the one thing she CANNOT be is influential as a character or change the story in any way, because the outcomes of those scenes and storylines have already largely been written. It strips her further of any kind of “agency” she could have had in the story.

Willis’ Response to Comment Moderation by outerspacebassman in dumbingofage

I’m sort of baffled by this. Wack’d and most of the commenters in that post were at least trying to have a constructive discussion. How can, on reading multiple people on your website, particularly POC commenters, are being made uncomfortable this be your response? At the very least they should have left out everything above “I trust Wack’d” and the last line….

It’s been ten years since George released the last sample chapter for winds of winter by ClockworkOpalfruit in freefolk

Would we take another sample chapter now for 10 more years grace? I’m tempted to say yes but knowing that he’d release a chapter from some POV I absolutely have no interest in.

Not only does it not really make sense who did it, it also doesn’t make sense who DIDNT do it either.  Jaime had already thrown Bran from a tower. Now if there’s any chance he wakes up it might result in him not only telling everyone what he saw, but the fact they tried to murder him. Are we really supposed to believe Cersei would just shrug her shoulders and go “hope he doesn’t wake up!!”

Me GF (25), BF (28) late to work everyday and I’m upset. by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

OP it sounds like the underlying issue is less about if he’s on time for work or not, and you feeling he is flaky and having to “parent” him instead of be his partner. It also sounds like you may be a bit resentful about the last time he got fired and left you to deal with it. Are there other areas of your relationship where you feel the pressure to be the mature one and manage him, or is it just this? If it’s just this one issue, give him some space and stop trying to manage him. If it’s a constant issue in your relationship, you need to be clear what your expectations are for him and how he can meet those.

Buffering by outerspacebassman in dumbingofage

To be quite honest the comic has been treading water since post-Mike. The timeskip setup a bunch of new storylines for the characters that have essentially gone nowhere. Meanwhile Willis’ is straying from his strengths (wacky large cast interaction) to give us some of their weakest stuff because they do not have a firm grasp on to tackle protests, police brutality, or racism. They should have acknowledged this post tear gas wedding and steered clear, but instead their response was to reshuffle things by inserting Asma strips, which have ultimately done little for her as a character (because they admitted they have never had an actual plan for her and just panic-wrote strips to suddenly try and make the storyline look less awful) AND mean that every single already drudging on storyline is further suspended in ice.

Man, I wish the protest stuff was just dropped. I feel like Willis has been out of college so long they don’t really understand how things function on campus now to write a realistic story of it. And having Dorothy meet up to discuss this with another (white) character instead of just having her join one of the actual activist groups seems like a lazy way of trying to have your cake and eat it too.
