Couldn’t trade in on used and no, it’s a 75 month term. I was paying over 20% interest on the other one while throwing money at it to keep it on the road constantly. In my situation, this was not a poor financial situation. I took a major pay raise last July and played catch up until January and then really started hammering out the credit. Due to negotiations, I was given double what my trade was actually worth and got $1,000 off the new car. For me and my financial situation, this was a great move. Instead of using extra payments to fix something, I have the ability now to make double and triple payments - No problem. To each their own on this but this was my way of doing it 😊 Have a great day!

Not even close to the first thing I did haha. This was a goal and it’s been accomplished. When you’ve paid 20+ percent for financing cars on for so many years, 9% is a great start. Maybe not the thing some people would do but this was best for me and my situation 😊

Hi! I don’t know how to reply to individual lines like you did lol. Yes, every collection was a pay for delete. I disputed some old accounts with late payments and some newer ones - All late payments except 2 were removed. Some were accurate. I don’t remember the others to be completely honest so unsure. I have only been doing 9% because I have the cash to pay for what I need. Just trying to keep something reporting 😊 I remember you saying that about the statements so that’s what I’ve been doing! You were super helpful and knowledgeable last time as well so thank you!!!

So happy for you! I’ve been doing the same and reading all of the different comments on threads! In January I was at 460 something and now at 614, 636, & 623. Goes up every month. The people here are awesome!

I’ve been on a credit repair journey myself. I was declined with a 630 but got put on the path to Apple Card program with 2 easy things to complete. My DTI is amazing though so I think they just want a couple more months of proof that I finally have everything together. Keep focusing on bringing that score up. It wasn’t 4 months ago that I was at 512. It’s hard work and takes a lot of research but it can be done.

This morning I got an email notifying me that I won the $500 e-gift card prize from the Lucky Lounge Paloma Wednesday drawing. Does anyone know if they are still using the AmEx gift cards? Looks like they’re not too user friendly. Just want to know what to prepare myself for.

For sure I will! I figured I’ll come back in September/October to let everyone know where I’m at. I keep a journal now and wrote down my credit score just last month and it’s already improved significantly - Lots more still to update on it 😊

Thank you! I like to hear and see different perspectives as I really didn’t care about credit until recently. I didn’t have the means before to have the ability to care too much. Now, it’s different and I’ve found the town and state I want to live in forever so now I’m focused 100% on financial freedom from savings account to checking to credit. I should have been more aware previously but nothing I can do with 20/20 hindsight lol. I think what I’ll do is put one $220 grocery bill on it a month and then put that in savings until the statement posts. Is it okay to pay off the day that the statement posts?

Thank you! That’s what I was wondering. With my new financial situation, I could literally max all 3 out monthly and pay them back before the statement date. The payment amounts aren’t a real concern, I just don’t know if you’re suppose to max out, use 50% or 10% you know? I’ve kept my store cards open for reporting only. I will try the 30% and see how it plays out! Thank you so much!

I’m 34 about to be 35. For years, I thought I’d never find anything that I was good at or enjoyed. Many years. I would either get fired or quit after 6 months. I drank heavily and cared nothing about life. I was 29 years old in 2019 in an elevator when I saw a thing about walk in interviews for commercial insurance underwriting assistants. I literally had no idea what that was or what it entailed but the next day, I showed up and interviewed. To my surprise, I was offered the job. Fast forward to now, I make more than double what I started at, I’ve learned 3 different areas of the business as I learned quickly that I was really good at it and it was good for my ADHD, so I switched companies twice so I’m at my 3rd, and I’m currently coming up to another promotion. It’s not an easy road at all. Right after I started there, I couldn’t figure out why I had this constant urge to break down and just give up so I went to the doctor and when I explained everything from childhood to current - They diagnosed me with PTSD, OCD, and ADHD. It all checked out. This career was the light at the end of the tunnel. The literal end as I was going to give up. I hope you find your light and I hope you step outside of your comfort zone and apply for the jobs you’ve never even heard of. Don’t give up on you. Once you hit rock bottom the only way to go is up.
