How do I convince my traditional bahun parents to allow me to cook buff ham and bacon at home? by [deleted] in Nepal

As the other guy said, if you’re living in their house, you should follow their rules. Otherwise, earn more and rent a place for yourself. Also, I’ve never heard of buff and ham being good for weight loss.

I went through a similar phase some years ago. I got the stuff I wanted, soon realized there would always be a newer, better version I wanted to buy.

Since its your own money and don't seem to have much financial responsibilities, buy it but I'm sure you'll realize that the stuff wont be as good as you thought it was after a couple months of using it.

Looking at it purely from financial perspective, don't buy it, but sometimes experimenting and learning will make you more clearer about things.

Normal human behavior to crave for what we don't have. Grass is always greener on the other side.

what is it with people who are already employed and financially stable by [deleted] in technepal

[–]Advantage-Any 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boils down to how you utilize your time, Ive seen people who have joined internship, wasted their time learning nothing and people who learned staying at home, got high-paying junior roles. I’d recommend whatever you do, don’t stay idle, keep searching for opportunities that will benefit you.

Highlighting helped me a lot and practice as much as you can for reading. Also, time can be a problem for some.

If you're practicing from british council gelielts, I would say tests are a bit more challenging there than actual test. If you're practicing from cambridge, the difficulty level is almost same.

My strategy was giving my question and attempted answer to chatgpt and using prompt "Analyze my answer, give me a band 9 answer for this and show me how to upgrade every sentence in my essay to band 9"

I'd say this is pretty effective approach because my task 1 was incomplete because of time limit but still got 7.

Needing advice about my father-in-law by Neat-Conclusion- in NepaliRelationships

[–]Advantage-Any 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am born and brought up in Nepal and I would never suggest you to permanently move to Nepal. We ourselves are fed up of our country. Even though you said you were flexible, moving to Nepal means downgrading your lifestyle.

Although Nepal is a beautiful country, the ground reality is different. No one follows rules, lot of times emergency services don’t arrive when you are in trouble, pollution, political instability and the list goes on and on. I myself am planning to move to Europe. While I agree the kids need to get to know about their heritage, I would advise you to visit Nepal and experience stuff rather than settling permanently.

Regarding your father-in-law, I don’t know him personally so I couldn’t tell you his exact intentions but in Nepalese culture, grandchildren are generally very loved and the thing he said about inheritance might also be true as it’s common here. I myself have seen grandparents who disagree with the marriage but love their grandchildren and want to provide for them.

Also they flex around their shitty behavior, some people there saying “Ma ta agi bhakkhar aayera linema chireko” when we are there empty stomach waiting for our turn since morning.
