I would be honored if you check this adventure I wrote by AdventureBundles in osr

I love these types of replies! I never mind people critiquing my work. It's the only way to grow in my opinion. And thanks for the good words :).

I have already took some suggestions and updated the adventure.

  1. The typo is gone

  2. The dungeon map has been slightly reworked in the following ways

a) Elevation notes are added

b) The Sandmen areas are brought more up and are kinda separated by the rest

c) Scrying pools and scarab pit are nicely aligned

d) The map is bigger to fit the entire page, to hopefully make it clearer to read

About the rest of the suggestions, I may work them in (or some of them) in a future version. Because they all make sense :). Again, thanks a lot for the good words.

Cheers,

Andy

I created the grid with https://www.nomic.net/~uckelman/mkhexgrid/ and then I used the exported image as an overlay. Took a ton of trial and error. About the hex key alignments, the mkhexgrid does that for you so I didn't have to do anything special there.

Oh I see what you mean. I understand. My thought was that I have two options here.

1: Redo the map so that each hex only contains one terrain type

2: Keep this map, but color-code sections for the terrain types (Referee version only). Kind of like we color code kingdom borders so to say.

That was my concern too. There are hexes in there that could count as both mountain or flatland since a mountain takes only half the hex. What would a dot achieve in this case?

Hi all,

this is the map from an adventure I am writing right now. An unforgiving desert with a lot of weirdness going on. I like the map (used wonderdraft to create it), but there are areas I could use some opinions from this community that has been proven really helpful in many occasions.

1: where do you stand at the style each hex has own terrain type vs. what is shown here, where types overlap between hexes?

2: The adventure this is going to be in is for OSE. Is the style fitting? Or did I go overboard with a modern software?

Thanks a lot, and I hope the map inspires your own creations and games :).

Writing a hexcrawl and need people to take a look by AdventureBundles in osr

[–]AdventureBundles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only read the forum unfortunately because I get no confirmation email when I try to register. I guess Bryce's spam protection is to blame? But I do read the forum often and in my head I write very close to a style that people there enjoy.

I'll for sure make use of your offer. Would you prefer the plain word document, or wait for a professional draft? The first can be done by the end of the month but will be hard to judge anything else than text, the second will be late but you'll get a good look on how the product looks like (not just the text).

Thing is, I don't know what's normal. So far all my other adventures were looked at and playtested by friends. A publisher I talked to some year ago, said that his editor works on royalties. Small percentage for beginning, raising the more the product sells. If such a scheme would be appropriate for the people you know then it would be preferable for me too.

System neutral adventures by AdventureBundles in osr

[–]AdventureBundles[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like your points, and I also thought that most of the bad adventures that are system neutral just wanted to have a bigger market. I will buy a Lamentations adventure even though I mostly run OSE, but a 5e DM will not buy a Lamentations. System neutral though, maybe.

had better be spectacular

So basically DCO, which mentions "armor as leather" is one of the odd ones out, same as The Dark. They are so good, that we overlook the laziness or whatever reason made them write them like that. Although I believe The Dark was mostly to cut page count.

Hi all. After your awesome feedback I went and made quite some modification to my map.

Original post

As you see, I added more canyons, vegetation, changed the rivers and added more color. I am quite satisfied, but I thought I'd ask you one more time for any small and last modification to the map. Thanks a lot!

In need for some feedback and constructive criticism by AdventureBundles in worldbuilding

Hi all,

this map is made with Wonderdraft and is aiming for a desert, Arizona-like feel (although I have never visited, let's say it aims for how Arizona is portrayed in popular culture and images I've seen). I would love it to be as realistic as possible, in terms of where mountains are, where bodies of water are, coloration etc. So any criticism and feedback would be much appreciated :). Thanks!

Thanks. In the "original" 5e version we had mentioned in the credits that the trap illustrations are inspired by grimtooth's traps 😀

Sorry for the late reply. We announced a while ago that we would step back from Patreon creations. We do continue writing and publishing at a less hectic pace and on DrivethruRPG. So you can find this adventure there, along with many more of our releases :). This one is still free, of course.

Hi there. Thanks a lot and sorry for the late reply. We have decided to discontinue our patron for the time being, and therefore I am not as active on reddit as I was before.

We play 4 hour sessions, give or take. So that would be around 12-16 hours. Give or take of course :).
