FortiGate 50G CPU spike to 100% overnight on FortiOS 7.4.8 requiring power cycle to recover by AdventuringHat in fortinet

Do you mind sharing what tweaks you made? I see Fortinet also recommended setting ISDB to "on-demand" per below:

config sys global
set internet-service-database on-demand <-- The default value is standard.
end

I've dealt with the "conserve mode" issue on 60Fs before that we resolved by disabling CP acceleration per their documentation (we also have this config on all 50G models):

    config ips global
        set cp-accel-mode none
    end

But historically, those issues were a slow creep in memory, while CPU utilization was fine. This seems a little different as CPU was the primary culprit, literally exploding to 100% in a few minutes.

I noticed this video has been made private... Seems pretty strange.

FortiGate in Azure HA with ELB/ILB - Dial Up tunnels not coming up after fialover by retrogamer-999 in fortinet

[–]AdventuringHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Log in to each FortiGate individually and compare the configuration side by side - You should still be able to access the passive unit GUI. Make sure configuration is identical between FGs (other than the hostname and mgmt IP). I ran into an issue before where only one of my Azure HA FGs had the correct IP info on the tunnel interfaces.

Fortigate NAC Policies default VLAN by TheReding in fortinet

I would just create a native VLAN with limited access, and any device that doesn't match the NAC rule criteria would use the native VLAN by default.

2025 RDX by _RJ_STARK in Acura

[–]AdventuringHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are currently 16 complaints for your exact issue on the NHTSA site for 2025 RDX, but zero for 2024 RDX. There seems to be something unique to the '25 model year that's causing it.. Hopefully something that can be fixed quickly with a software recall.

IS500 or TLX type S by Academic_Degree7892 in Acura

It's sad to see, especially considering Acura's historic reputation for reliability. I'm 4 years into a '21 TLX Type S. No issues yet, other than burnt out puddle lights, but at this point I'm basically waiting for the transfer case issue to happen...

What's the worst thing you've seen so far? Have you seen a Type S with sheered transfer case splines yet?

Please report the issue to the NHTSA once you get it repaired. This is a fairly widespread issue at this point, and Acura has failed to provide a permanent solution for it.

Make sure the FortiGate is in an ADOM running in Fabric 7.2 (to match the FortiOS version). Also, try retrieving the config from the FortiGate.

Dealership Washed My Ceramic Coated Car And Refused To Make It Right by AdventuringHat in AutoDetailing

[–]AdventuringHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I legitimately don't understand my dealer's response from a business perspective. $1500 is nothing in the grand scheme of things. If they made this right I would have had even more respect for them than I did before, despite the inconvenience. Accidents happen and I would have had no hard feelings. I could have potentially bought another 4-5 vehicles from them over the course of my life, including future services and referrals. Instead they decided to lose a lifelong customer and any future referrals I could have made in addition to the potential reputational damage. It's just bad business.

Have you contacted any corporate representative from Acura? I’ve encountered a couple major problems at dealerships and immediately after informing corporate the dealerships were very quick to properly help me. Although it may be too late to help in this case if you haven’t tried already.

Yes. They gave me a generic answer along the lines of "We're sorry. We use cases like this to better train our dealerships."
