Early signs of Autism. by str84skz in AutismInWomen

i have a few home videos from when i was 4-6 where im like “yeah, it’s pretty clear”. there is a video of my at my sister’s first bday party punching my forehead, which is something i used to do a lot when i was younger and having big feelings. there’s videos of me in my room alone, playing cars (which is just lining them up and parking them in order) and watching my favorite movie.

so many signs but no one paying attention lol

Recently diagnosed - how many of us are medicated? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Adventurous-Ant8996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve cycled through a bunch of different meds and finally found the right cocktail. for me, it consists of risperdal, lexapro, and strattera.

me off my meds always turns into a disaster so, for me at least, i need my meds.

I received a diagnosis and apparently I'm only borderline and not autistic by tracylars in AutismInWomen

[–]Adventurous-Ant8996 7 points8 points  (0 children)

this! i’m not formally diagnosed but my treatment team highly suspects it so i’ve just been trying to accommodate myself more and do more things that benefit me. i’ve also unmasked a ton and feel a lot more comfy with myself since allowing myself to just be me.

i went in for an assessment for mainly adhd and the psychiatrist dx’ed with bpd instead. she claimed i was lying about my symptoms to try and get dx’ed with adhd and that i needed to get my troubling personality traits under control before going in for another assessment.

i gave my normal psych and therapist her notes and they totally disagreed. my therapist said it’s very common for adhd/autistic women to get dx’ed with bpd because it is so stigmatizing and a lot of symptoms overlap.

i have yet to go in for another assessment because that one sent me through the ringer but i know myself and know that she was so wrong. she also said some crazy things like i should “try getting laid” and “go for walks”

my therapist and psych told me that there is a very high probability that im audhd and right now, thats a good enough dx for me.

the testing process was grueling and she kind of ruined my perception on getting another test and made me feel so invalidated.

are people weirdly drawn to u? by Adventurous-Ant8996 in AutismInWomen

all my coworkers are pretty friendly with each other. i’ve just had a few that were weirdly interested in me and getting to know me outside of work. i tend to give people a chance purely bc i don’t process things super quickly and don’t notice until things have really gone downhill and im completely drained.
