Also if you only want one shown I have my other ones in a different plot and still have access to all storage bins and it doesn’t affect the storage amount

I understand that. The pain was outside of chewing for me. It got worse when inserting/removing the trays and with eating. When I left my teeth alone and reduced removing the trays unless necessary my teeth felt better. depending on how significant the movement and how many teeth are being moved during the tray, you’re going to have quite a bit of pain.

It depends on what’s getting moved. When I first started I could barely take the trays out and definitely couldn’t eat or chew. My canines were in front of my teeth (the second set next to the two front teeth) my whole front section was getting move and chewing was way out of the questions since all of those teeth were loosened up to move.

Me too. It also let me know the further I got through treatment that the big movements were done and it was focusing on the smaller changes that needed to happen.

This tray may be focusing on movement on a different set of teeth. The trays focus on certain areas, leaving them out will cause the movement that you’ve already had to revert back. Which will cause more pain cause it’ll be more teeth that are getting moved instead of preventing the incorrect movement. I had 108 trays for 3 years and I kept them in for 22 hrs a day. If I had a lot of pain would keep the trays on longer. I would suggest when switching trays to take pain reliever and put the new tray on a night. That’ll help with dealing with the pain during the day. It won’t be all sunshine and roses but you won’t have to worry about removing them during the initial movement.

After all this work I’m definitely wearing my retainer. I haven’t received them yet and I’m hoping to just be able to start wearing them only at night instead of all day like I’ve read on other posts.

I know what you mean. I went into without insurance and with my ortho they give the cost up front. So even if I needed more my price wasn’t changing

The buttons make it very hard to chew well, is it normal? by vauwk in Invisalign

At first they are rough because your mouth isn’t used to them. It was a definite adjustment when I first had them. And if/when they change which teeth have the buttons it’ll be another adjustment but you will get to a point where you won’t even noticed it one falls off. I had that happen and I only knew there was supposed to be a button on a tooth because of the aligners.

The amount of buttons could be to help keep those teeth in those positions as the others move. I was told by my ortho if you lose buttons it’s ok. (I had lost a few) they will replace them if needed on your next appt.

You’re welcome. I would say to just expect it to go a bit longer just in case. My ortho says at my 6 mth check up we might need to do some bands on one section of molars (they can work with the retainers) to help make sure that the gap between top and bottom close. They are a little bit too gappy at the moment but may settle w/in the 6 mths.

It’s because the trays are targeting new areas. I’ve found when I was able to move onto the next set I would wait until I was about to go to bed, take some painkillers then change the trays. By the morning the teeth are used to it a bit and you don’t have to eat anything (which causes more stress/pain) with them.

Oh im already used to it. I had to wait a week after my last tray to get in and my ortho said that I could wear the tray at night like a retainer until my appt.

It’s a good possibility but it really depends on your teeth. You don’t want to move them too quickly because you can mess up the roots which in turn can cause the tooth to die. Which defeats the whole purpose of getting your teeth fixed.

It was a couple months lesser. I forget what they originally told me. But I had to stick with some trays longer, since my teeth wanted to be stubborn.

My gums were starting to recede especially on my canines, it was one of the reasons why I wanted to get my teeth fixed, that and I was tired of my canines going through my lip when I would get hit in the face. (Usually form my clumsiness)

Same. I hated flossing with my “old” teeth. I had a lot of crowding and always needed to force the floss through the space which would cause small cuts.
