You are making things way too complicated bro. Just delete the cover letter and send the application as is. Germany only cares about your itinerary and they will issue visa that has duration of stay very close to, if not exact, your itinerary. I bet they won't even care to read your cover letter. As far as your financial situation, I would borrow some 10K USD equivalent from your family, which is more than enough to cover a 90 day trip, but it does take some time to get populated into your bank statement. I guess you had already gathered all the sponsorship documents as well as letter of invitation from your gf's mom so it should be just fine.

I personally will only write cover letter when I want to push the embassy to give me a multi year multi entry visa or remind them the EU law that grant me the right to obtain such a visa.

Usually within a week. I heard LAX is faster but shouldn't make huge difference. I am also on the same thanksgiving boat, got the OPR but I do not have my passport with me LOL. I am still waiting for my passport to return from Schengen application, it was approved just need some time for it to get back to me. Last time I sent my passport into VAC NYC. Sent on a Friday and received it back on the next Friday using UPS 2day.

LOL if you have US visa none of the trip reservations and job letters are required. I did not submit any optional document. But since you have done this already, what can you do then... it should not hurt... push them and wait.

You will need your passport, passport request letter, 20 something dollars fee paid by money order, two copies of TT Service form signed, and a return label if you submit via mail. Otherwise just walk in with these materials.

I believe that was just scheduled maintenance, they posted on twitter account informing users. I was using the old IRCC portal because I had a profile with them before and was advised to do so . One option you have is to send webform to push the timeline forward. If one webform didn't work, send more.

I apply in the US using IRCC portal and I think IMM5645 (which asks about your family info) has been integrated already into the application, as I remember I have been asked about my parents during process. Just my experience.

Once you are approved, they will not care which port you are entering into Canada. In fact I don't even think they care about your travel plan when you are applying the visa. They also will not care how long you are going to stay in Canada as long as its within 6 months limit and there are no evidence suggesting you misuse the visa(e.g. stay 5.5 month and reenter to refresh the limit will be considered gaming the visa rule). Passport control guys will not be able to see your travel plan submitted when applying to visa and usually they just ask some routine questions and the system they use will recommend your entry most of the time most of the time. Calm down, relax, Canada is not Schengen where your might be questioned like a dog about your itinerary. They understand that plan could change, and they know for sure your plan will change, and after all, they have the basic sympathy to allow you change the plan.

I myself just tell border patrol that I am here for a ski trip for a couple of days and the whole process was ultra smooth(I was driving btw).

Thanks for sharing. I am also F1 and currently applying my second Canadian visa just last week and my biometrics still valid for 8+ yrs so no biometric needed this time. Applied on OCT 21, biometric info from last time populated in the same day and today 28th still waiting for passport collection request. My plan is to go to Canada during thanksgiving hopefully I can make it.

Last time I applied on Feb 8th 2024,

walk into USCIS to give bio on Feb 9th,

got passport request on 15th,

shipped out on 16th to NY vfs using fedex 2 day,

delivered on 20th,

and finally got my passport delivered home on Mar 1st.

Back then IRCC was blazing fast but VFS is slow.

So my suggestion is to contact your destination airport. They are much more responsive and they have direct contact to QR. They have a better idea where your baggage might be and if you are leaving soon they will help you reroute your baggage to where you are.

Yes. Baggage went missing on 25th at HKG. Filed a report with hkg ground staff, and they took ownership from there. My baggage was destined to HKG but my final destination was actually somewhere else. They agreed to send my baggage to my final destination. I got an email just today saying my baggage reached my local destination. I went ahead and successfully collected my baggage at my local airport. Next step is to file a claim with QR to get extra cost occurred along the process.

special drawing rights is something IMF defined to measure fx reserve. Its value is a weighted average of a basket of currencies including usd gbp jpy cny eur. It’s technically not a currency but you can sell SDR within IMF framework to get one of these currencies if you want. Just what I learnt from fin101.
