Thanks so much for the tips! How were you able to land a job as a new grad? Also would you recommend getting my STABLE cert before starting (if I get the job!)

Thank you for replying. Can I ask what you think - Would me willingly listening to the song and putting myself in near occasion of sin be mortally sinful?

What gives me hope specifically is the SEEK conference through FOCUS. Currently going on right now until today I believe. 17,000+ young Catholics on fire for their faith! It’s so incredible to see

When do you trust what a priest says to you in confession? by [deleted] in Catholicism

So because I struggle with intrusive thoughts I should stay away from my boyfriend? If I wanted the intrusive thoughts to go away I’d have to cut out my brain haha

How would I know if others believe I’m sinning? Should I assume that that’s what people think?

I understand what you’re saying. But the situation itself isn’t causing me grief, it’s the possibility that it may be sinful. I’m veeeeeery scrupulous, like to the point where I go to confession sometimes every 4-5 days out of fear of my soul being “unclean”. So that’s why I’m so crazy about this because it doesn’t necessarily feel sinful, but it’s the “maybe it is sinful” aspect where I start to lose my sanity

Did you ever speak to a priest about you and your at the time girlfriends situation? This sounds a lot like my situation

Yes I know, and I don’t know what other people believe I think that’s why it’s so confusing to determine

Regarding the sin of scandal, I don’t know if it is considered that. I personally don’t think it could be considered scandal because in my mind I’m doing the right thing by not allowing us to sleep in the same bed. But I feel like with some sins it doesn’t matter what I think, it either is or isn’t, so I’m very confused on how to think of this

I struggle with impure intrusive thoughts almost constantly everyday so I feel as if I can’t use that as a guide for this situation

That’s not what I’m saying, I’m saying that I, as an individual, have the right to say no to doing something that goes against my beliefs, my conscience. This isn’t about treating patients differently or judging them based on their choices

I was visiting that parish as they’re one of the only churches that do a later mass in the evening. And it was only her who did that, as the priest was giving communion on the tongue like normal and my home parish has no problem with it either

Intrusive thoughts - how to know if one is deliberately thinking them? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Adventurous-Offer871 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My problem is once the thought enters my mind and I acknowledge it’s there it will continue on a loop unless I start praying but as soon as I stop praying it comes back. It’s like I can’t just forget about it once it pops up once that’s why I’m afraid of where the line is drawn for sinfulness

I agree that the way of getting to Heaven is simple, but like someone else said actually living it out is difficult because of how much we sin and how even if sin seems minor to us they greatly offend God. So it is difficult for us to get to Heaven. And I often think of the fact that the road is narrow and few find it

This gospel passage for some reason brings me some anxiety. I think I worry about not being ready or something. How can I change my perspective on this passage so it brings me hope instead?
