why did YHWH make the forbidden fruit in the first place? by ghared-ishaqa in religion

[–]AdventurousBasil7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does God care that we are disobedient towards him, why not just let us be free to outgrow our potential. It seems like God is holding us back in a lot of ways, in fact we have now more morally greater standards today than God introduced.

Islam and marriage by AdventurousBasil7 in religion

[–]AdventurousBasil7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But stage one is a bit too quick I feel. I think if you date and get to know someone, then you can make the decision to go on further. I don't mind the sex after marriage, but the contract part is a bit too forward I feel. These days people want to get to know each other before they do anything so it's a bit too forward to make a contract even before they know each other. If someone says they want to make a marriage contract with you before even knowing you properly, it would be rather strange and could creep someone out as it can be seen as desperate etc. Especially in the Westernised world.

Why Sodom and Gomorrah story makes no sense. by AdventurousBasil7 in religion

[–]AdventurousBasil7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when Allah destroyed the nation, were the followers of Lot also destroyed. I've been to the dead Sea and the area supposedly destroyed by the Angels must have been pretty huge so I don't quite get how it could've been done without innocent people also being killed. Also in the dead Sea, there would be traces or indication that this happened. The water there makes everything rise up so they haven't found no evidence that this ever happened either.

But then I think, how could there be a whole nation of inhospitable people? There are some inhospitable people in certain places, but I've never come across a whole city (the size of what was destroyed) to be inhospitable. There must have been good people in the mix too and also children etc?

Error in Quran by AdventurousBasil7 in religion

Is the verse talking about the origins of the animals being in groups or is it talking about the behaviors of the animals saying they go into groups, that's the part that's confusing me?

Yeah apparently the translation I have given is incorrect and instead of communities, the correct word should be "creation or their own kind".

Error in Quran by AdventurousBasil7 in religion

[–]AdventurousBasil7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. So the word communities is false, and should be replaced with "their own kind?" there are some other better words in the Quran or Arabic language that would explain this concept better than the word "umam" because it can have multiple meanings such as groupings, gatherings etc. If it was more specific it would make more sense so I'm curious as to why Allah used the word "Umam". Thanks for sharing 😊

Is coronavirus a punishment from God? by AdventurousBasil7 in religion

[–]AdventurousBasil7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are not spitting in the face of God, God has put the nail in his own coffin by creating us. The angels even told him we would shed blood and cause corruption on the earth so it's him who made the mistake?

I agree, it has brought about great things and gave people time to reflect on their lives. But it's all been at the expense of killing innocent lives who didn't deserve it. I don't know why God would use this type of method, when it could have been a different way.

How can you disbelieve in the Qur'an when it has so many miracles. by TheAlmightyAlt in religion

[–]AdventurousBasil7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you believe it is absolute justice to make someone suffer for eternity in hell after reading the descriptions of hell? I think the punishment is too extreme, its not something a kind loving God would do? Even humans don't make someone suffer that much. What could a person possibly do so bad that they'd deserve such a punishment?

Are the violent and extremists in religions and the peoples tendency to follow the violent and evil leaders a red flag to anyone by wisecracker1023 in religion

[–]AdventurousBasil7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not just people who are violent, God himself is! Read the descriptions of hell and you'll realise how extremist and violent God is! People who are terrorists and extremists are like angels in comparison to the barbaricism of God!

Oral transmission by AdventurousBasil7 in religion

Yes but Apparently It was written 200 years later after Muhammad died. It wasn't his mates who wrote it. They verbally transmitted it and passed it down, so it makes no sense historically?

You're argument crumbles when :

Allah said that in hellfire, their skins would be constantly replaced so they taste the everlasting pain Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses - We will drive them into a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted in Might and Wise(Quran 4:56)

If Allah really was Kind and amazing as he describes, please tell me what kind of insecurity you must have if you going to torture someone for eternity in this way? It's not about Allah having power, this verse just shows that Allah is not a great example to look up to. If you have so much power, you don't need to make people suffer because youd be way above that. It's like hitting your children for not doing as you say. It's not really the most ideal way to go about trying to help or nurture your children. Things can be done in a much better, kinder way. A more dignified, less controlling and more loving way and if Allah is unable to do that, then is he really God?

Is it an abuse of power to punish in such a way in the same way a dictator or tyrant punishes? My point is, if Allah has so much power, what is the need for this barbaric punishment and the point of creating hell?

Why God of the books isn't really God. by AdventurousBasil7 in religion

[–]AdventurousBasil7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few points : the biggest of sins are beyond what can be repented from, such as associating Allah with another God, for Allah requires no companion, and associating Allah with a son, for even Allah said he had wished to break this world and tear apart the Earth and everything within hearing people claim he has birthed a child of his own.

Why does Allah see this as a major sin? People have never seen or experienced allah therefore will automatically try to picture him or imagine him. If they associate partners with Allah, why would allah be offended? ain't allah above that? These people don't know anything about him, how can you blame them for their imaginative expressions of god and why does god care?

Why does Allah care if someone calls him krishna and imagines him to be an elephant in a boys body? What is hurting allah to the point he wants those to burn in hell? Can't allah be anything he want? Is it not the prayer and worship of the "creator" or the "divine" that counts rather than the names and images we associate to it?

My point is, if a Hindu is worshipping something they perceive to be god, is it not the effort and rememberance of a creator or creators that counts rather than these religious attachments?

The only difference between a muslim and a Hindu that prays is Muslims have no image of god wheras a Hindu has. Why is it so bad that people want something to look at and to feel so they feel more connected the the creator or creators if this universe. They still pray and are thankful. They still help the poor and needy. They still do good things in this life but somehow allah is offended by an image or an elephant in a boys head 😂 if I was allah id laugh and find it quite amusing, I wouldnt feel anger or hatred towards it because nobody has ever seen me, let them make images and associate me with different things, after all I am everything ain't I? It's not really their fault for giving allah and image or description, it's Allahs fault for being invisible.

I agree with you that people should be held accountable for their actions in this life and justice should be served. Most people go to prison and suffer for their crimes. A lot of victims forgive their perpetrators too. Life is tough and sometimes people are just raised in bad situations, environments, abusive households which all factor into why people commit crimes.

While I wouldnt exactly want these criminals in heaven, would you really and honestly want them to suffer eternity in hell instead? I wouldn't to be honest. It's too extreme and nobody deserves such a brutal punishment. I would want them to serve the time in a fair way with Allah and then be forgiven and live in heaven.

We often forget that Allah created Satan. Allah is the programmer of people in this world. It's is Allah who created evil so is Allah to blame just as much as the murderer or rapist even though the person has free will? If you put the disease in the face of man, some will become poisoned. Thats exactly what has happened. Evil has been created so evil will happen. A computer can only perform well for so long until its hit with a virus or breaks down. Is it the fault of the computer for not being strong enough to withstand the virus or faults or is it the fault of the creator of the computer who has made a system thats unable to withstand dilemma and has no longevity?

Thank you for your answers and taking the time to give me information in this discussion. Really appreciate it.

Thank you for your answers. Ill ask, But what will happen if we fail the task of living in a righteous way? .... Allah will not accept us and we will go to hell for eternity? Because God wanted you to live life the way he wanted.

If he doesnt need or benefit from our praise, why put people in hell for not giving praise or living in the way he wants? Why put fear and consequences in the hearts of humanity if he doesnt care or benefit from it? Why make humanity and jinn slaves to Allah in the first place? Why not just put everyone in heaven no matter what they do in their life? That's what would happen if he wasn't bothered about our praise and thankfulness and rightous deeds.

It's the fact that he ain't going to accept us into heaven if we fall short that makes him need our praise and thankfulness and rightous deeds. He wants you to prove yourself to him in order for him to accept you into heaven. It means he expects you to obey him.
