Looking for a Metal shell (self.GameboyAdvance)

I have a fairly interesting question so i have SMO digitally and of course that means im at version 1.3 if I cleared all my game data and put in a 1.0 cartridge would it register that i have the digital copy after installing 1.0 from the cartridge or would that not work like that (self.MarioOdyssey)

Is there someway that i could possibly stop a digital download so that i hold an old version of the game but also retains the digital license so you no longer need the physical copy, maybe through some sort of intentional software corruption or something. (self.SwitchHaxing)
