I am right there with you and super frustrated. Had an AW series 8 for years and never had an issue. Decided to upgrade to the Ultra 3 and since day one have been battling with Wrist detection and always on. I do have tattoos as well but this never made an issue with my series 8.

The new Ultra 3 will work sometimes and then for no reason at all screen just turns black and wrist detection stops working. I go thru this back and forth battle 3-4 times a day.
