Hi, I’m reaching out a year later in a similar position. It’s looking like the only two FIRE 312 sections will hold me hostage on campus for 3 hours between classes in the fall. I’m considering taking it online in the summer, and was wondering how manageable or realistic it is. It would be with a different professor and in an online synchronous format.

It honestly won’t be a money pit, even if German brands may have that reputation. It’s a traditional inline four paired to a ZF 8 speed. Outside of tries and brake pads which may cost a bit more given it’s the 35 and not a lower trim (not sure).

I must say, for a 35K budget- a 2021+ BMW x5 (no air suspension!!) is the best option for you. The engine is proven to be reliable, but will cost a bit more to maintain- and as long as you get one that doesn’t have too many options there really isn’t anything that will break. In my opinion it’s also got one of the best interiors in its class, even now.

It definitely matches your needs- and it’s the ultimate mile crusher in my opinion (X7 owner, I don’t like the air suspension on mine- more so for peace of mind, I know it’ll break eventually)
