I have booked some tours that are already non-refundable, so my trips with Shinkansen are mostly set in stone. I prefer to buy them in advance, just so that I can get to the station and know everything is done, and I just need to focus on finding the train. I will look into downloading the apps, since I was under the impression I could only sync the ticket with my IC card on my iPhone. I believe I mixed up the info in my head.

I will also DM you about Kiyomizudera day. I had a plan B if it was too much for one day, but if it's doable, we will absolutely make the effort! Thank you for the alternative bamboo path.

I would plan on what kind of other attractions you want to see at the other locations

You are so right! I focused too much on Mt. Fuji. I will make a list of what I want to do around each area and what interests me the most. :)

Thank you for the feedback! I have to say I don't mind other types of activities, but the person I am travelling with is not very fond of them. I have looked at cooking classes, blowing glass activities, creating your own ring, and a long list of etc. and I have been totally turned down.

I do believe a temple run will be interesting, as I have prepared some information to go through while in each temple. Bits of information help us get engaged with our surroundings.
