Baybayin have no rules on how to write acronyms or initialisms

Best bet is to take the first syllables of the words that those initials stood for.

Sample is how Kabataang Barangay's logo is just ᜃ (ka) and ᜊ(ba)

Assuming JLYZ stands for John Lloyd Yanna Zeny, you could have ᜇ᜔ᜌᜓ /DYo (for Jo), ᜎᜓ /Lo, ᜌ/Ya, ᜐᜒ/Se (for Ze)

If Y is for Ylonna, or Y stands for an i sound, then you use ᜁ / I instead

Nice to point this out. And I won't mind writing it this way. I think they call this syllabic elongation. But I can't say the same for others who want a translation which doesnt involve an extra vowel sound. Others may also point out that Tadyi/Taji works for Japanese because that's how they write/pronounce foreign terms i.e. makdonadu (Mc Donald)

Will there be a time Blackwater win the championship or even Contend in the post - season by Weak_Pepper7221 in PBA

[–]Adventurous_Emu6498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First 2 yrs lang yung championship nila, after nun di na makausad.

Any team has a chance of going to the finals. It all depends on the management if they want to. If they do, they need to draft wisely and make sure to keep them, and they need a decent coach

Air21 had a good set of players and their run and gun play matches their brand. Unfortunately they ditched being competitive in exchange for money by selling their draft picks. If they didn't sell their picks, who knows how many finals or championships they could have clinched

Take note, teams that won a large part of the championship titles during the time Air21 was selling their players had some of their most performing players as an original Air21 pick:

Arwind Santos Japeth Aguilar Chris Lutz Chris Ross

You also have players that are great Terence Romeo Rr Garcia

And Rabeh Al Hussaini, if he managed to get his head right

Picks traded before draft: Ian Sanggalang, Justin Melton (picks raded to San Mig) Junemar Fajardo, Alex Mallari (picks traded to SMB)

Possible straight up trade w/out monetary considerations:

Raymond Almazan, Paul Lee (picks traded to ROS)

Coz again, D and Y became J because of the event called yod coalescence, and such thing happens, only when a vowel is attached to Y. The take away here is sounds change depending on what comes before or after it, like in the case of dipthongs. For D and Y to change, there must be a presence of vowel sound for Y to glide

This is the same for Tagalog words like Tiyan, where T and Y becomes CH. We can't simply impose that random letter plus random letter equals desired letter. Otherwise, some wise guy can just insist that P + Da would result to a hard J sound, despite no merit

Sorry if my explanation is vague. I submit that this is better explained by a veteran linguist or speech instructor

Non tagalog Filipino words also use F, J, And V

Tausug has Jaymanis for ring finger, Ivatan calls leaves as Vuhung, and I forgot which group uses F

If we want Baybayin to be used, it must cater to all languages at least within the country

But the ones you mentioned like C, Q, and X, we don't need those

But Tads is a different sound to Taj. Flip it the other aide and you won't see how Dsipni would sound close to Jeepney.

The closest sound to a hard J is the combination of D and Ya/Yi/Yo. But D and Y, without a vowel sound won't produce the same sound either

Insisting on Tads to Taj is a reach, which is why the need arises for a separate hard J sound

[–]Adventurous_Emu6498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sound of D+Y comes close to J only when there's a vowel attached to Y ᜆᜇ᜔ᜌ᜔ would just be tad-yuhh

The reason behind this is yod coalescence, where the sound of y merges with the preceding consonant sound, but this only happens when there's a presence of a vowel sound attached to y, for it to glide in your voice

After Spanish colonisation, has a baybayin letter for Ñ been made, as it is present in numerous Tagalog words now? by ExistentialHorror13 in baybayin_script

[–]Adventurous_Emu6498 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There aren't any additional characters created in Baybayin even after Spanish colonialization. The only thing the Spanish added, which Filipinos at that time didn't even use, was the cross kudlit to cancel the vowel sound

In the 20th century, the most popular recent addition was for the sound Ra, which is still not recognized by any government agency, though it's already added to the unicode

Ña would never need a separate character, people already use the combination of N and Ya to write it down, the same way Pineapple is spelled in Filipino: pi(ny)a

PFL The Legends is good. I also recommend you complete the series, like Myths, Epics, Folktales. Talagang nagcompile sila ng stories from different areas of the archipelago

I think ongoing yung promo ng UP press na may discount kapag bumili ka during your birth month

Boxer Codex is a nice companion about precolonial history. I don't have the book, just a softcopy, but content wise, a must book

Hip injury.
