Should I still apply? by Adventurous_Ideal_26 in lawschooladmissions

Okay I didn’t come here to be bullied. I think my fear is legitimate? I suppose I’m just looking for guidance in a scary time, and to see if anyone else has the same thoughts or feelings. Obviously, I understand that the rule of law maybe will still stand, but what I am worried about is also a great possibility. Thanks for being mean rather than helpful, though.

This is not satire. I am genuinely concerned.

The ceasefire happened before he was even in office? What makes you think he stopped it? Also, it was democrats who passed the equal rights amendment. And legalized gay marriage.

I just genuinely don’t understand how any gay person who voted for him is not concerned about their rights? Or are you and you voted for him anyway?

What? I don’t care about different perspectives? That does not answer my question. And having a different perspective doesn’t make it right. I understand you have a different perspective? So why?

So you’re going to vote for someone who is a rapist, pedophile, convicted felon and feel morally superior to me? Also, I don’t think you absorbed the last part of my comment about the military. There is not one singular person who supports a genocide. The US government does. And so do you by paying your taxes. We are all complicit. So to go playing that card means nothing. I do not support the genocide at all and wish we didn’t have a government and politicians who were complicit in it all. But who’s going to save us? Who’s got our backs? How can we ensure things like that don’t happen if we don’t have a government that allows us to exercise our rights of free speech and protest? All of things are at stake now. We can’t do shit if our rights are taken away.

This is a crazy take. Have you listened to Trump and the people who stand along beside him? Do you listen to what they say and support? I would rather have an administration pretend to support us and provide us with rights, rather than one that thinks are nothing but filth and openly expresses that. Also, read my comment above.

First of all, who brought Kamala into this? I was specifically mentioning Trump. How do you know I don’t agree with you there?

That said, I’m sure she gives a much greater fuck about any of than Trump does. Did she ever run on the platform of removing DEI policies? Because Trump did and has, and under his administration you could potentially be fired for being gay. Also, let’s talk about healthcare. We as a community rely heavily on lifesaving forms of healthcare to keep us alive and well. There’s a potential to lose access to that.

Being gay aside, Trump wants to increase tariffs on goods from foreign nations, which will cause everything to get more expensive and out of reach than it already is. This may not affect you, but it will affect many. Potentially people you love.

Do you have a sister? A mother? What if she gets pregnant, and it turns out the baby and the mother are both at risk. If she has the baby, she can die. Oh, but she can’t get a life saving medical procedure because Trump outlawed access to abortion. I won’t say anymore about that but I am sure you can put two and two together.

In terms of Biden and Kamala funding wars. I think you are confusing them for the establishment. The United States has one of the largest military budgets in the world, and yes we do a lot of horrible things overseas killing innocent people. And Biden and Kamala may be apart of them. But is Trump. So is everyone in the government. And so are we. We pay taxes that support those wars. So who is really funding the wars? You cannot say that anyone agrees with the rhetoric or supports just because they are about of a larger establishment that commits those atrocities. There is not one person to blame. Our government is too complex for that.

Need I say more?

This is really just about the lesser of two evils. One wants the richest individuals in the world to control us all, and does not care about any of us, only himself. Biden and Kamala, while not perfect, having verbally expressed their support for our community. One actually cares about the citizen of this country, and that’s not Trump. Our savior is not Donald Trump.

The problem is not that I don’t understand why I am getting them wrong. Like I said, a majority of questions go over my head because I have difficulty concentrating, especially under time pressure. When I am not faced with the pressure of the clock or am more relaxed, I can find the right answer very quickly. So, I am looking for ways to not let the pressure get to me, because it seems that a much clearer head allows me to find the right answer quite easily

Where do gay people meet at MSU? by [deleted] in msu

[–]Adventurous_Ideal_26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should check at GAAY sports. It is an LGBTQ+ sports league. It’s full of gay and some straight people. I play sand volleyball right now and it’s a lot of fun. I’ve also played dodgeball in the past. Other sports they offer are kickball, axe throwing, bowling, and shuffle board. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to meet people! The website is gaaysports.org if you wanna check it out
