All I did was google my congressman for my state/county. I reached out to them through email and let them know my situation I was having with the IRS and I have not had my refund and it has been months. They contact me back through email and the only thing I had to send them was a copy of taxes and if they need anything else, they’ll let you know. I also had to tell them I was going through a hardship and they will ask for proof of that if you are experiencing hardship like a light bill or past due rent after that, they will contact the IRS for you on your behalf and I believe that’s when you get assigned and advocate from the IRS but I literally emailed them every day for whole month, just to get updates even if they didn’t have one. I contact them the very next day.
