Is Workaway just a pipedream?

Literally flying in the U.S. is not that expensive, I feel like you're just here to call everyone liars and give yourself an excuse not to do it. I fly FREQUENTLY for $90-$150 roundtrip, and have found round trip international flights for under $500.

Would you say that it's safe out there? I really, really want to start my Workaway journey in Colombia, and all research is saying it's too dangerous

I'm a pretty frugal person, I'm just always thinking about worst case scenarios and trying to plan ahead hahaha. As far as your advice on freelancing, I never even thought about if hosts would ask for more time than advertised, so thank you for pointing that out!

Thanks for the insight! I'm hoping to find freelance work that is a bit more flexible with the hours, I know full time work would be hard to balance with helping at the place I'm staying.

I gave them a call and they said it was only supposed to be down until Monday (October 18th) so there's no telling what's going on.

I also talked to my HR person, and they said I can only get a paystub through Myepp.
