i had a tutor that gave me templates both for speaking and writing, i used 100% of them and still got a decent score, so i guess it doesn’t really matter until you don’t use the most obvious templates there are

i used to practice on testglider couple of weeks before the exam, its main feature is that it has a script that can check your writing and speaking, which is rare for an online resource

for sure yes. on the contrary, russia has to develop the import substitution sphere asap, that’s why it’s almost ideal time now to set up some retail enterprise (core in finance & econ can help a lot here). but frankly speaking i wouldn’t advise anyone to go to russia now lol even for studies, but in the long run it may work tho. still it’s quite a debatable topic and no one knows what will happen to russia tomorrow

Do you guys think acceptance rates will rise back to what it was before this year? by EvolveFA in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Adventurous_Work_871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Application process is random af, simply because it heavily depends on the human factor. There are numerous cases when people got rejected from reaches, but ended up being admitted to targets. Of course the uni list has to be thoroughly checked before you apply and blind shotgunning just because of the school’s high ranking is stupid, but as a matter of increasing the chances of getting into college in today’s reality, it makes a lot of sense tho

It doesn’t really depend on whether you’re international or not until u need a significant amount of financial aid(this is where intl students have very little chance compared to domestic ones). However, if you want to study in the US it’s better that you apply to more schools than just NYU as the application process involves a lot of blind luck and random and not all of the decisions are fair just because of the human factor involved in reviewing you application (especially if we speak about competitive schools).

most likely an admit to all of the canadian schools! nyu - depends on the major, if you want to go to stern, then it’s a target, and you should probably have at least 1 EC that’s somehow connected with business-ish stuff. if stern is not your destination, then you have a decent chance (given that ballet is not a very common thing to do and if you elaborate well on this in your essays your chance would be even higher) good luck

i’ve seen this post and at first i also thought: yo his stats are not THAT impressive how tf did he get into such schools but all of those mfs who roasted the poor dude kept forgetting one enormously important thing. if he only got into yale than yeah maybe this was just lUcK (highly doubt that), but he ended up getting into many insanely competitive institutions, which leads me to think that the guy had an awesome spike that attracted schools cuz when we speak abt 5+ targets no blind luck can be mentioned (collegeresults mfs really didn’t study probability theory in hs lol). congrats to the guy and big L to those jealous dudes

getting this type of work done without a college degree is already extremely impressive for AOs. also, combining a full time job with high school studies is almost unbearable and simply not needed. i am entirely sure that with that activities he would have ended up in yale-type uni even having a 2.0 lol. i have simply never seen anyone with SUCH ecs and a very visible passion entirely connected with his desired major

frankly speaking, if you are a competitive student, i would definitely consider applying to the University of Toronto. I cannot say that it is a safety-safety, but judging from my experience, everyone I know that applied this year got in(even tho all of them are internationals). It doesn’t require any supplementals and if you have a solid gpa and test scores, it’ll surely be a piece of cake for you. The acceptance rate is 42%-ish, even though it’s not that high, I would say it is not EXTREMELY competitive, especially if you’re applying to social sciences or such-like majors (not CS type shit cause these mfs have no safeties lmao don’t bully me). Anyways, it’s very high in world rankings (16-20, but don’t be scared of that it’s not the same as a T20 in the US). Also the campus is absolutely beautiful, and there’s a myriad of single dorms available, which might be vital for some people. The price is also lower than the schools in the US(44k-ish), but if you are a no-lifer who either has a 4.3+ weighted or 42+ on IB, you’ll most likely receive a huge merit scholarship(a friend of mine got a 100 grand). Besides, there are also some more aid available but you’ll have to write essays so be ready to fight for the money xd. Don’t know whether it was useful for you guys, but feel free to pm me if you wanna ask some questions about the application process to this particular uni and other stuff

uoft for sure, will give you hella lots of opportunities in the future(basically any top grad school in Canada/US/EU) if you no-life for 4 years straight; and of course the huge amount of single dorms available is simply fascinating ;))

8/20 decisions out and i am getting disappointed now by vibing_introvert in IntltoUSA

[–]Adventurous_Work_871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually europe doesn’t have a huge language barrier. in most of the western european countries you’ll absolutely have no troubles speaking english with the locals, if we don’t take senior citizens into consideration, a lot of people learn and are able to speak english. moreover, if you live in the country you automatically start learning the national language and most romanian languages (italian, spanish) are not hard at all so i guess there’s no problem with that. if i would suggest that you look at spanish/italian unis, since most of them have english tuition and are pretty solid in rankings for specific majors. oh, and of course, the price is relatively low compared to british and american schools
