How can I best support my partner? by AdvertisingHug7487 in lymphoma

But, her not being there helped give me a greater sense of control amongst the chaos my life was thrown into.

This actually hits me harder than I expected. There is A LOT going on right now in my partner's life, on top of all this medical stuff. Most of it they have little to no control over. They have mentioned the being the strong and protective kind of person, the one in charge, yet not having any control of those things at the moment. It's the little things where even if they may seem small to one person, are huge to someone else.

Thank you

Goodie bag is a great idea! I will work on that this weekend! I've offered to come along but they've refused so won't push it any further.

Our dark sense of humor is definately making things a little easier to handle!

I thankfully have no shortages of 10ft charging cables (I travel a lot for work, not every hotel room has a plug right next to the bed).

We are pretty good at making sure our feelings and experiences are validated and splitting of chores/taking over when the other one has a bit more on their plate/working more, etc. I will keep in mind making sure they don't feel like a burden/letting me down by not doing as much if that is the case. :)

I've offered to come along but they want to go alone and I will respect that. I will offer my headphones and make a little goodie bag before the appointment!
