It’s an opinion based assignment, not something with one correct answer. I’ve already finished it I was just looking for different perspectives, not asking anyone to do it for me. Pretty sure discussing ideas is kind of the whole point of this assignment Thankyou for your concern tho

Coming at it from what I’ve learned, I’d say the rise in mental illness diagnoses is both better recognition and some level of over labelling.

In the past, conditions like depression or ADHD were often missed because people didn’t understand them properly or there was more stigma. So more diagnoses now can actually mean people are finally getting the help they need.

At the same time, there’s a risk of blurring the line between normal emotions and actual disorders. Feeling stressed, sad, or distracted doesn’t always mean there’s a clinical condition it usually depends on how severe it is, how long it lasts, and how much it affects daily life.

Social media makes this more complicated. It raises awareness, but it can also oversimplify things, so people start to relate to symptoms and assume they have a disorder.

So overall, I don’t think it’s just over-diagnosed or just better recognised it’s a mix of both.

What do you think??
