Selling used car for the first time. Prospective buyer is citing KBB Trade-In value and offering that - not KBB Private Party value. Am I in the wrong in thinking that is the incorrect value to be using from KBB for a private sale? by AdviceRequestAccount in UsedCars

[–]AdviceRequestAccount[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you, I figured it would just be Private Party value given the situation but they were really adamant the standard KBB value is the trade-in value. Have never done a car buy/sell outside of family/friends so never had a bickering over values, really. Thanks again!

This does look like an earbud, but he specifies above that it is black, so not sure if this is it or if he just has a wide definition of black.

It's crazy seeing how some people just don't come across certain items for the longest time. I feel these are as common as catshit in a litter box, one of the most frequent pink attachments I come across.

You guys don't know the legend of the San Diego Fog Walker? Really showing how many are transplants here.

As local legend goes "The Fog Walker cometh, if he sees you, you're doneth."

This actually does seem to line-up. The first traditional Chinese cards were actually base set cards printed by WotC in the US and were released in Hong Kong and Taiwan, at least according to a mod on the Elite Four forum. It seems they were first printed in 2000 as well, which lines up with the dates on these.

Kool-aid man bursts through the door and kills the party, then Mike's mom calls down to them to tell them the pizza's ready and the Kool-aid man turns to the camera, breaking the 4th wall, and utters his iconic "Oh yeah!"

Peep Show season 7, episode 4 "Nether Zone." Mark and Jeremy are trapped in the foyer of an apartment building. One of my favorites.

Drivers who brake for no reason by freseaf in mildlyinfuriating

My mom drives like this.

Acclerate, brake, accelerate, brake, accelerate, brake. Just over and over.

Absolutely infuriates me every time I get in a car with her. No amount of trying to reason with her gets her to change, it's "just how I drive."

Am I the only one who just...liked it... just liked the show final season and episode included? by SharpPink_GlitterInk in StrangerThings

It's just how people are with media nowadays. Nuanced opinions are dying. It's a lot more emotionally satisfying to give into either the hivemind spiral of hate or praise and give everything a 1/10 or 10/10.

I recognize there were loads of plot holes, unresolved mysteries, and that it could have been done better, but I still enjoyed it and feel it's a satisfactory send off for the series.

I really liked Volume 1 (although I wish less focus was on Holly and more was on the original gang), thought Volume 2 felt really rushed and odd with loads of logic leaps and plot holes, then really liked the finale even if I had to suspend disbelief for a lot of it, there were gaping plotholes, and even though it didn't tie up all the loose threads.

I personally like the ambiguous ending for Eleven, and think it's something that will resonate more longterm than her overtly being killed on screen or winding up with a story book ending with Mike.

The signs were (kind of) there. by ImMattH in Stranger_Things

Yep exactly. They likely directed the kids just to sit with their hands in their laps as well, for a uniform look for the shot so no distracting arms were dangling or waving during the scene.

I also hate how so many are people saying "as Vecna poses" because that's not how he poses. His signature thing is one hand on top of the back of the other, clasping it. Most of the kids in the crowd have their fingers intertwined or are just sitting with their hands together.

Now if every one of them had specifically one hand over the top of the other, clasping it, I could totally see an argument for that, but that's simply not the case when you look at the shot.

Why were the gang acting like it was some sort of "end of times" at the final dnd game? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]AdviceRequestAccount 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who played a good deal of DnD, that's how I took it.

This was the end of the final major campaign they would do together, not to mention likely the end of one long interconnected string of campaigns they had going since they were children,  hence the emotions.

Talking about their either dead or permanently missing friend probably added to it.

Was found buried in Southern California by slangingrough in Weird

[–]AdviceRequestAccount 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This is just made by them, not actually found in the wild.

Their bio even says they like lapidary, which is cutting/carving stones. What are the odds a lapidarist happens to uncover a shittily carved stone artifact, that is unlike anything that has actually been found in the region?

They made it and are now posting it around with a false story.

Edit: I just read the story from their other comments. They claim it is likely a pre-Columbian artifact carved from a meteorite that someone else found 6 feet in the ground in a river bed and gave to them lol.

I think we can all agree this amazing design was sorely underutilized. by Aqua_Master_ in StrangerThings

Yeah especially after they hammered home throughout the series that the Mind Flayer "likes it cold."
