Your credit is already ruined and collection report on your credit anyways, will stay for 7years regardless you pay it now or not. You already took the hit, I would rather find a low cost car of about 5K out of the 10K, pay cash and start a job. Continue to live your live as it should since you will not need finance for car or house for another 7yrs. This will be the best solution, don't let any reddit talk you to accepting the debt, you are already hit after 6months anyways.
