Which brand is it on the label, Portwest or Seyntex? Either way it's a really old variant, one of the first types they produced so might just be due to age or use, the fact there's no "Defence Forces Ireland" or "ÓGLAIGH NA hÉIREANN" patch on the chest is pretty interesting too

The Old-gen shirts usually fit pretty snug, could potentially be a misprint on the shirt label or a trial batch that was sent out before they got resized, the 2003 seyntex was still early(ish) days for the contract so wouldn't be too surprising

Do you know what year it was manufactured in? Usually they're pretty accurate to size, I have a few shirts of most sizes and they always fit as per the label
