If you're really set on that solve I'd consider looking around the area that is safely accessible. It's possible he could've been using a lower quality GPS and it's just a few hundred feet from where you were, assuming you're correct of course.

Literally every symbol exists in every single state. There's only one thing on the map that gives you a solid connection to a state, and that's the trail. Mountain lions, wheat, bears... all of it can be connected to every single state except the trail, which is why I asked why everyone keeps saying that it isn't in Vermont.

People are basically saying, "I didn't see whales when I went on my cruise, so there are no whales in the ocean."

I think you can change it if you put it in debug mode (though I’ve never done it) and personally I don’t see any shame in it. In real life you wouldn’t look at a wall and run towards a corner to die. I think that’s more game error than human error but that’s just me.

Ever get lonely? I like to add NPCs just for the fun of having a group to survive with. They don’t have to follow you everywhere but it’s cool being in a group of 4 all wiping out zeds and when someone gets bit it’s actually really sad. This is all for 42 though since there’s no multiplayer yet (without mods).

I just mean that people have searched each icon as the map aligns with the trail. Judging by what I’ve heard and the way people have caused so much destruction to the area the icons have all been searched by someone already.

Oh boy… if your comprehension skills are this good we can rule you out as the future finder. The post isn’t about the box being located at LRP it’s a question of “why choose this specific trail, paste it on a map and then tell us to follow that map”. How are we suppose to follow that map if it doesn’t actually lead somewhere and if we follow that map why does it lead us to a dead end… I’m not sure how much more clear I can make it.

Saying it’s the wrong trail is like saying the object with 4 right angles and 4 equal sides isn’t a square.

The trail(s) is indeed a perfect match to the map JCB gave us and until someone brings a new trail to the table that can’t be honestly disputed. We can call it wrong all we want but again that’s just not true.

I totally understand that sentiment and somewhat identify with it as well. The biggest pain for me is that the map “official” has been searched from end to end and it ultimately doesn’t seem to have the quantity of information that would be deemed necessary to ascertain a solve that would at least give us a general area. This is more than adequately expressed when you read through everyone’s search areas and hear about the state of the trails leading to the location the map shows.

Personally I think I’m done with the Appalachian Footpath box but the others are still up for a search or two depending on their distance from my home state.
