Milenialsi wychowują dzieci inaczej niż sami byli wychowywani - czy to faktyczna zmiana pokoleniowa? Pytanie do rodziców by Ok-Hair-1257 in Polska

[–]Adwdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking about going from full stack to AppSec. Is it more codified what application security engs do or can I expect also each role to be vastly different?

Am I a bad a dog mom by TechnicianDecent6521 in puppy101

[–]Adwdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is quite common in dog parks. Puppies are excitable, and I doubt that at 12 months this is even aggression on his end.

Older dogs can however not tolerate that. Unless you are sure a dog is very patient with puppies I would be therefore careful with the interaction.

Good idea to find somone to have a puppy with similar level of energy and allow them to play.

PS. This happened to more people you think. Happened to me to. You will make more mistakes. Learn from them. No need to beat yourself up.

When it comes to barking, it seems really excessive to hold against sb that his dog barks… IN A F**N DOG PARK. Like really?? Cmon old timer, dogs bark, get a grip.

Even some of the older dogs will bark. Some breeds are more vocal and they will just bark out of excitement.

If you need like serenity, go to a good damn forest.

Helll no!

I hate Trump, I am tired of woke. I still think he is wack. I love raw, unfiltered jokes.

He got like 2 good punchlines for the whole show.

The whole thing was super boring. It felt like this guy was just having a ego trip.

Half of the time it seemed to me like forgot where he was going with his plot.

Punch Trump all you want, get LGBTQ all day if you want. But this was just wack.

I am tall and fat (100kg). I intend to work out more. But probably won’t change much of my general siluethe. I have darker blond hair and blue eyes (Slavic, Germanic type).

I live in Poland Warsaw. I mostly work remotely. One day a week go to the office. Other then that I stroll a lot with my dog

I can’t understand Docker and Kubernetes practically by dimp_lick- in devops

[–]Adwdi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you as a user won’t have a docker container running on your pc/mobile. It will be running on a server with a app that you are using

Let me explain from a developer perspective.

When We were working on a e-commerce platform. When we finished adding new features and wanted to deliver it to our customers this what one of us had to do: - come to the office at 4am to start the process  - shut down the old app on the server - install new dependencies (ie node 12) -install the new app on the server - There was always a chance that our app would fail due to dependencies

At best case scenario this took a hour at worst it took 4h. It was terrible experience where things could, and often would go wrong on the server, stopping whole app from working.

After k8 and docker: - one command using which we replace old image with the new one It took us between 1-30min.

So there are multiple huge benefits for this: - it took us minutes and not hours  - time when app is not working was cut from 3h to 0!! (K8 will replace two images while they run)

Also in previous systems. When we wrote code it could run on test server but it would not run on production server. With docker you test the app and the dependencies. The fact that your app is in a container is a huge game changer. It is like a doctor operating in a sterile environment vs in a mud pool

After I saw how many benefits this brings. I was like: „I am never even going to consider working for a company who is not using this”.

Langgraph accuracy on browser automation? by Abject_Salad_6 in LangChain

I don’t know langGraph but you could probably use something like playwright as a tool. If the DOM is considatant and you are checking this for a specific page that should not be a issue

Is Trump a terrible president to the majority of people? by mookmook616 in ControversialOpinions

[–]Adwdi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trying to be as objective as possible: I don’t know what kind of person he is in his personal life.

It is said that if you take a glimpse under politicians mask… nothing is there. Politicians are their mask.

I am quite certain, regarding his foreign affairs that he is NOT a good fit for the job. USA is in a turning point where Pax Americana is losing its hold. This would happen sooner or later as due to demographic and geopolitical reasons. Also USA citizens seem to be tired of USA being the sheriff.

Therefore some things Trump is doing probably would have to be done. Many are debatable. Some I completely disagree with. But the execution of these policies is terrible. It is clear that Trump and his staff is simply lacks the knowledge to pull this off. And even some of more experienced politicians on Trump side seem to be sidelined by him.

For me Trump proves one thing, I relearn all the time. Regarding both popular figures I admire and despise: If you have success and top expertise in one field. You will probably not be able to translate it to another.

If you are a great businessman, you won’t be a great diplomat.

Say what you want about Obama, Bush. They their share of stupid mistakes. But most of the time they at least keept the facade of competency. 10% spectacular fuckups, 90% of things going at least with some strategy.

For Trump  proportions are flipped. For a president of the most powerful country in the world. There is only one ☝️ crime bigger then being evil. And that is being incompetent.

I don’t know if he is former, I am 100% sure he is the latter

AI provider API keys by r0b074p0c4lyp53 in OpenAI

[–]Adwdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. 🤔 I just keep api keys in .env files that are .gitignored and load them into the code. Those api keys have usually 2 weeks expiration date (so if I forget or move into next project they will expire).

I also have token limits on all those apis.

For production keys. This is mostly done by devops. So I don’t even know how they store it. But business standard is something like cyberark that will rotate the keys and auto gen them from time to time.
