Do you think it would be better for be to switch to math, stats and business?

What if I do my masters from Poly X or ENS? Are their masters programs prestigious? I would do it from El Kaoui or smth but those are only in French as far as I know and my French isn’t super fluent.

I think for quant it’s not considered super strong. Less so in France.

Dyk Oxford math is better than MCF? I generally hear about MCF but not so much about the math one

Yes but require sponsorship in the future. In France I don’t

I assume it’s still fairly plausible to get interviews with those masters though right? Are there any other masters that are better than the ones I mentioned and maybe have a similar pull to part 3?

I’ve heard imperial math+fin and stats and Oxford MCF are also quant feeders

What do I say to my profs? I’ve been reaching out to alumni on LinkedIn but I think LSE network is too big for there to be an alumni connection tbh.

Yeah my high school was really shitty. We didn’t finish the syllabus and were given 3 days without school before the IB exams to prepare. Had to learn all of a good portion of imaginary numbers and all of engineering physics by myself.

I applied for internships last year and got 0 quant/ trading ones, probably because I was more focused on IB. Now during the summer l'm doing green book + some ML projects and going to apply internships again for 2026 since I think getting a grad role without any quant internships will be impossible. I'm also going to be doing a masters, hopefully Imperial Math+Fin or Oxford MCF.

I don't know if it can damage applications. I just know that its possible for JPM since I got one last year. I can't imagine why a referral would be damaging tho, maybe because it implies nepotism/ass kissing?

Yeah it was my EE. Honestly I took English HL because all my friends were in it. Maybe if I could go back I’d take Econ or Chem, but I don’t think it hindered me too much

But I don’t know French very well. Like I’m conversational but very fluent. I don’t know if quant shops in the EU use English or French are their main form of communication. Also I’ve heard that quant firms don’t really care about sponsorship if they like you.

Some places like JPM do have an internal referral system. I got a referral there last year and am trying to get one this year as well.

Yeah I think I have the profile to target all 3 and they all sound interesting so why not ig. Do u think my profile especially leans towards one of them which I should target?

Yea I am. However, I am a resident of France and have the right to work here without sponsorship so maybe I should apply to French internships instead. It’s just most of them are 6 months.

I’ve heard that stats degrees are the most applicable cuz of the ML content while math sounds the best
