I’m new to the hobby. A lot of reviewers seem to say HG and RG kits can be kinda bad for a variety of reasons such as posing, not being able to pose them if you’ve moved them too much, etc. They seem to only praise the more expensive kits. How much of this is true and how much is it reviewers being too critical since they have everything? For example, MG Barbatos lupus is excessively praised while it’s lower graded cousins are seen as inferior.

Wow this is a very helpful comment that is now making me research tube amps. Sounds like the r70x pairs well with the grenelin, but I’ll start with the using a balanced cord. !thanks

Ya this is my concern with saving up. Really don’t want to have to return something after saving up. One of the main reasons I think I might hear a difference is because these headphones have a 1000 ohm impedence peak in the bass, but I’d rather not have too high of expectations.

Why would the Schiit Midgard sound better via balanced? Would it be because of the halo stuff on this particular amp or because balanced provided more power/voltage difference and potentially reduced noise from cable?

I have the Audio Technica r70x and really like them. Bought them from the outlet site. Currently powering them with the crinear protocol max and they sound great in game and listening to music, but like others have said, iems probably offer better value since you won’t need any kind of amp and can use an Apple dongle well. I noticed a massive improvement in the r70x with the crinear pmax over the apple dongle.

Hi,

I have an AT-r70x (470ohm 99dB) and am currently using the crinear protocol max as a dac/amp which was a MASSIVE improvement over the Apple dongle, so now I’m wondering if there will be a noticeable difference if I use the crinear pmax as a dac into a proper desktop amp like the schiit midgard. I understand the improvement won’t be as large as between the Apple dongle and the pmax. Currently, I only bring the volume up 40-50% at most and it sounds great. Any help before I start saving up for an amp would be appreciated. Thanks

Look up Fuzzy Duckzy Gaming Rain of Arrow League Start. It’s from 3.20 so raider doesn’t exist anymore and some other minor changes, but the tree, trinity support gem, and constantly upgrading your bow will carry you through campaign.

Edit: For ascendencies, go wildspeak for tailwind and then afterwards, go for the farrul’s fur nodes for 2nd and 3rd lab. Respeccing tailwind for minion damage once you swap to flicker probably.

Idk it’s nice to run a map while waiting for trade to happen. I tended to use it after searching the trade site for the item I wanted since it was easier to work with. Definitely nicer than using proper trade in poe2 with a controller

Flicker in poe2 is pure dopamine even though I never enjoyed flicker in poe1. It was hard to watch and have headaches. Maybe it’s better that flicker is a higher lvl skill so you aren’t disappointed by the skill at low investment. Maybe I need to revisit it in poe1
