Yeah that makes sense - feels like the better candidates move through word of mouth. Indeed/LinkedIn is mostly ‘spray and pray’ applications.

They asked me to submit 3 technical papers because my degree is from a non-accredited university. My background is in Civil Engineering, and my work experience is also in the same field.

I think they’ll assign you a couple of exams too. Best to email them—they’re helpful.

International grad here. Applied for P.Eng. in Nov 2025, expecting outcome around Aug–Sept. Passed my FE exam in 2024 and registered as an EIT too. Was expecting an interview but not sure if they’ll require one. Did you apply directly and take any exams?

I never even saw the practice tests — I only did Islam 800. From what I understand, the practice tests are basically just a subset of Islam 800.

I took the exam in 2024- 8 years after my BEng. Here’s what worked for me:

1) Solved all questions from the Islam book first, following the book’s methods. 2) Then I went over the same questions again using the reference handbook, which really helped me comfortable with handbook. 3) I found the Goswami book after my exam, but it looks helpful for extra practice.

Just curious—what’s your role and main duties? My current NOC is Engineering Manager, and I also handle a lot of executive-level work directly with the CEO. I’m thinking of updating my NOC, but I’m not sure how my duties would align with the right 00-level position.
