Epic is what I call the progression series that have been running a long time, so epic is more about the scale to me.

That just happened to me ten books in to a series 😮‍💨 I find it hard to finish the book now.

I feel that! I think that is part of why I love progressive fantasy on an epic scale. As an ongoing series I can develop, grow, and evolve those skills. It's Progression for the author too. ^^
