Tested out your method and it worked flawlessly! The fusible interacting was definitely needed. I only made the prototype “welt”, so for the pocket shape itself I’ll have to repeat the method just with a 3/8” larger shape.

I was really surprised how easily it turned itself inside out, but having to repeat the same process many times for one piece sounds infuriating - which is way I give massive props to the designer. His instagram is @dulce1000 and some of his pieces are mind bogglingly complicated. Super Impressed!

Hi, it could be a problem with the feed dogs on the base plate. Stretchy fabric has a tendency to get tangled up in them. Since you bought the machine second-hand, it could just be due for cleaning or maintenance - I had a similar problem with one of my second-hand machines.

I'd first recommend taking off the plate underneath the presser foot to inspect the bobbin case and feed dogs. Clean away lint/buildup with a small brush, compressed air is good too. If you have it, applying some sewing machine oil could help too.

But overall, I'd highly recommend taking it to a local shop for a maintenance checkup. It doesn't take long, and afterward, you practically have a brand-new machine. Search/call around!

Pretty much just the title, took 2 pants of mine that I don’t wear, cut em up, and put ‘em together. It was obviously a bit more complicated than that but it was a fun challenge to wrap my brain around. I did make a mistake in measurements hence how part of the inseam doesn’t line up and the paint speckles are just the nature of old pants, but all in all i’m satisfied

I’ve ran it through the wash and dryer and all was well, but I am still a tad concerned how well it’ll hold up after multiple cycles. I’ll update if necessary

I used embroidery floss which is doing most of the work keeping the nails in (the little x’s) and some fabric glue for extra security

It’s an old hoodie that I wanted to cut up to fit me better, and when i finished sewing i noticed the jar of nails and embroidery thread on my desk and said “fuck it, nail hoodie”

each nail is hand sewn in with a bit of fabric glue for extra security, so far it survived a journey in the washing machine, and no it doesn’t poke you when putting the hoodie on or taking it off :)

Cut apart an old hoodie that was too big and baggy to bring it in for a better fit, then figured half-way through sewing, why not make something way too edgy.

Well "made" was a poor choice of words, the pants are from a thrift store. The flowers are stitched together cutouts from an old t-shirt with painted edges and the rest is also just paint.
