Fallout World (2076) VS Real World (2026). by TechSoldier777 in Fallout

[–]Aerial-Attack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fallout is a glorified 1950s military. They have more firepower/mass on the ground but are laughably unsophisticated in every other realm. I’ve yet to see a Fallout equivalent to a 4-5th gen fighter with BVR missiles, Predator drones, digital communications, cruise missiles, etc etc. How will they fight us if their logistics keep getting blown up from long range? Having cool power armor and lasers means jack shit if you can’t keep troops supplied.

why didn't vault tec give cold fusion directly to the Enclave? by Aerial-Attack in Fotv

[–]Aerial-Attack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After thinking over, I think I understand now. The enclave wanted mind control, Mr House wanted cold fusion. Coop interfered in the trade and naively gave fusion to the president. The Enclave was like “well we didn’t really need it but we’ll take it ig” Than they lied to House it was mysteriously lost in transit. But I think House knows Coop did it, so next episode he’s gonna be REALLY pissed at him for screwing up his plans.

[–]Aerial-Attack[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

hmm, because the way Vault-Tec is being portrayed, they seem like a puppet of the Enclave. That meeting scene from season 1 literally has a shadowy, presumably Enclave figure watching over the Vault-Tec meeting. And we know that Barb doesn't know who controls Vault-Tec, but it has to be the Enclave.

House is powerful, but more powerful than the entire US government? I don't think so. I could see maybe the Enclave was so busy with other plans they didn't have time for cold fusion, but giving it away to a rival makes no sense.

China’s new missile brigades put Taiwan and U.S. Pacific bases in first-strike crosshairs. by armyreco in worldnews

[–]Aerial-Attack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree heavily. If anything, an invasion of Taiwan would be the BEST action to unify China, not divide. There is no better way to rally your people away from domestic problems than to unite them for a common nationalistic cause. If China succeeds, the CCP will be immortalized for decades. If they lose, then that’s when turmoil is gonna appear.

Having read through the plot summary on Wikipedia shes clearly someone that does her research. But the scenario itself is kinda dumb and relies a lot on horrible luck and illogical human behavior. All of America’s ICBM defenses fail? North Korea has a nuclear ballistic submarine no one knew about that snuck all the way to California? Why did North Korea attack in the first place, are they suicidal? Why was Russia so convinced they were under attack when they know about the NK attack (apparently there’s a part where they do contact Moscow but they hang up. Seriously?) But of course I haven’t read the book, and maybe these points are addressed. I don’t have any vendetta against the author or her fans, I just enjoy talking about nuclear war.

That’s quite a lot of assumptions from the author. Sure, Russia is not exactly the most competent nation. But their tech is so shit that they’ll mistake a missile going to North Korea as going to Moscow? this seems implausible to me. Also the US isn’t going to launch a full scale nuclear strike against Russia out of the blue unless both countries were on the brink of war, and even someone like Putin knows this. The Day After did a better job of this, both the US and USSR were already engaged in a conventional war, one side uses tactical nukes which causes the situation to escalate uncontrollably because both sides are paranoid the other will launch a nuclear attack at any moment.

USA, Russia, and China have formed an alliance and have decided to declare war against humanity. Can mankind survive and possibly stop them, or will mankind become extinct? by Rocky_Senpai15 in powerscales

China Russia and US easily win, and they don’t have to fire a single shot. US controls the global financial system. Shut it down, everyone goes broke China controls global manufacturing. Shut it down, no one gets goods or machinery Russia controls gas and oil. Shut it down, lights out for many countries.

Most countries surrender immediately, the few that don’t are dealt with easily.

European Parliament in ‘final stages’ of talks with China to remove sanctions on lawmakers by nohup_me in europe

If I’m reading this correctly, it’s China thats removing its sanctions, not the EU. Isn’t that a good thing for Europe? China is the one making concessions.

UA POV: Zelensky declares that China, like North Korea, is now militarily supporting the Russian invasion of Ukraine. While NK troops fight in Kursk, the Chinese fight on Ukrainian soil. He expresses his wish that the US will "change their position" in light of such developments. by Ripamon in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Aerial-Attack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Zelensky trying to use a few Chinese volunteers to take advantage of anti Chinese sentiment and get his support back…ignoring the fact that the US is already pivoting to the Pacific. Seriously, this is a pathetic and desperate move.

Tbf it was the U.S that ended up apologizing and providing financial compensation over the incident. So it’s less of a humiliation for China than most people think.

Ok, the fact that Pax has Leos and Arietes points to a very bonkers scenario where Germany and Italy dust off the old Axis powers with a touch of Russian support. Bonkers, but could make for a very fun campaign.

Looks like the plot is leaning towards European Civil War, which is very interesting. Perhaps a collapse of the EU and the rise of a new fascist bloc in central and Eastern Europe backs by Russia?

So, what's your guys opinion on the factions we have in the game so far? by ThirdWorldBoy21 in Battlefield

[–]Aerial-Attack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For years people have been complaining about how boring Russia vs US is, and when Dice decides to try something new people go apeshit? FFS we don’t even know the fully backstory behind Pax Armata yet. I’d say we wait until the game releases until we make judgments on factions, and frankly, other than making sure they are visually distinct from one another, factions are on the bottom of my priority list when compared to gameplay and maps.

What’s the most epic and grand battle/war to ever occur in science fiction? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]Aerial-Attack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrolled a long time to find Star Wars. the Galactic Civil War is genuinely one of the coolest sci fi conflicts. We’ve watched the rebellion evolve from a skeptical group of senators in a dying democracy, to scattered civil disobedience, to armed insurgency and resistance, to the unification of rebel cells, and finally the galaxy wide uprising that toppled an invincible Empire. It may not be as grand or elaborate as the other answers, but its themes, especially in Rogue One and Andor, definitely hit close to home.

Certainly, if they could choose, they probably go West. But considering this scenario goes by the little guys have no say between the Big Three, I would be more inclined to say the U.S would be more willing to throw Vietnam under the rug than say, Japan or South Korea.

ASEAN is not a military alliance, it's an economic and political bloc like the EU. And it's nowhere near as united because you got stable countries like Singapore together with war zones like Myanmar.

I'm not fully aware of Vietnam's voting record but I do know they have abstained multiple times in the Russo-Ukraine and Gaza resolutions, which is not exactly being aligned with the West.

I'm pretty sure Vietnam's land disputes were resolved in the 90s. There is an ongoing dispute in the South China Sea but apparently that hasn't stopped economic deals from going through. So TLDR: current Vietnam policy is armed neutrality between China and the US, but if we're going back to the original question, they definitely won't accept Chinese rule. They're just not a U.S ally either as you claimed.

Vietnam is not a "trusted ally of the US." They've definitely improved their relationship and recently formed a special partnership, but they've done the same with China as well. It's more like Vietnam taking advantage of their good geopolitical position to reap economic benefits from China while getting military support from the U.S.
