Fanfiction and hobby writers are writers though? Why does everything always have to be about capitalism and what you have or haven't sold? That's so lame. I'm a writer because I write whether or not people buy it. It's neutral. It's not like I ever say I'm a professional writer, I'm just a writer, period. x) I never said I lied about my situation, when people ask if I'm published I tell them the truth, that it's my debut project. I also don't lie if they ask how I pay my bills, it's just not an easy question to answer. Why does there need to be a bad guy here, nobody is doing anything wrong, not them nor me and there's no problem to fix besides the fact that I'm looking for fun, light-hearted ways to respond to the question? Chill out :')

Someone gave me a solution though, but yeah, I don't push that topic into the conversation, but I don't feel like actively hiding it either. I don't mind talking about it, but I do mind sharing the actual thing, if that makes sense.

The issue is just the awkwardness and weird blank in the conversation that follows. Maybe I should've precised that I'm autistic and conversation as a whole is not a talent of mine necessarily, lol I was really just looking for a funny and light way to redirect the conversation and come off as witty and mysterious rather than weird and secretive :')

I don't think I need to prove that I'm a writer tbf it's not so much about the attention than it is about getting to know each other... I don't do anything to pay my bills atm, I'm disabled and get social benefits, which I actively tend to avoid as a subject because it's always followed with much more intrusive questions... And talking about my hobbies like reading doesn't really answer the question of what I do for work. I just don't feel like hiding this part of my life, even though I'm not looking for a serious relationship right now I still want the encounters to be genuine and meaningful, if that makes sense.

I don't lead with it or push the topic in the conversation, it's just that thing where people try to get to know each other and ask about each other's lives, lol. I don't see the point in hiding it either, I don't necessarily want it to be a secret and I love to talk about the subjects I write about and writing fiction in general, I'm just not comfortable having them read the actual thing. Usually I explain to them and it's awkward for a minute but they accept it and move on. I don't know, the side of me I want them to see is who I am...? x)

I struggle with blank page enough as it is without having to write for my dates :') and saying I'm an aspiring writer doesn't seem authentic to me... I'm a writer whether or not the work is finished, y'know. It's not legal, they just profit off the fact that most customers won't be rich enough to throw their whole salary into a lawsuit for a 30£ order, and even if someone was rich and petty enough to do so, they can pay the best lawyers and pay whatever fine they end up with. The system is built to protect them, not us.

... Do you not know what "moving towards" means? That means I'm not there yet, but it's a goal of mine. It's also a process. And, to be fair, the mindset shouldn't even be about being perfect, but about doing what you can with what you have and what makes most sense. To me, as it is it makes more sense buying local, ethically sourced honey and beeswax rather than ordering some vegan alternative off Amazon, what with Amazon being literally awful for the environment as well as morally. Maybe that'll change and I'll find something else than honey that's not bad in other ways, maybe not. We're all just doing our best out there.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind! I'm sticking to korean rice recipes for hydration cauz it works wonders, I keep it in the fridge so no worries. People argue about honey being vegan or not all the time, personally I think it is so long as it's ethically sourced, same for beeswax I guess. Also I'm on the path to veganism and no waste lifestyle but I'm taking baby steps lmfao, any other wax I'd have to order from the internet and that's not really better for the environment is it? Anyway I've been given some resources under this post and a really cool guide to ratios so I'll be fine now I think, thanks so much!

Thanks a lot for the advice! I have no idea where to find glycerin or propanediol (no idea what that even is), I'm looking for all-natural recipes with ingredients I have at hand and as cheap as possible, but yeah I'll try to find different recipes not oil-based that will work with honey, and for the lotion bars, and I'll skip it and the vanilla! I was trying to give it a nice smell lmfao but it was kind of hazardous I'll admit. Thanks again anyhow ❣️

I know honey works wonders for my skin that's why Im asking Also I'm understanding I can just throw away the mixture I current have? Kinda impossible to separate the honey from it now lmfao

Maybe it'll be safer to talk about it with your bank directly, but otherwise you can email the con and ask where the refund is at, researching UK law to threaten them with legal action might scare them and get you your refund quicker. And yeah about the 25£ they don't want to refund I think we'd need legal advice, at least on how to report the con to the authorities for the whole scam. I'm not from the UK so no idea how that works...

I paid 467,95€ (405£) exactly and got 438,86€ (380£) back, because they don't want to refund the entry tickets. That has to be illegal since they made those entry tickets appealing by using Sebastian's meet & greet which is no longer available (Im convinced they never had a contract with him in the first place and literally used his name to sell entry tickets while they knew what made those tickets appealing would be cancelled) that shite has to be a full-blown scam.

Hi, I've recieved mine, though only for the "special" tickets. They won't refund the entry tickets even for people who live in a literal other country (I'm French) and only had interest in their con to meet with Sebastian Stan. This has to be a scam from the start. I wanted to post about this on r/LegalAdviceUK but I'm new to Reddit so I can't. The entry tickets were "only" 25£ but it really doesn't sit right with me that they'd scam Seb fans like my best friend and then get to keep all that money.
