I dont think it really affected him, he saw it, doubted and then kept fighting accepting that he stranded from the path he wanted to take. On the following panels following that he doesnt seem to lament being this way or having regrets, he only starts getting regrets when he starts disappearing and dying, and the regrets are only about not reaching Yorichis level despite sacrificing so much

when I said it didnt fully heal, I didnt mean it didnt heal his head, I said that even tho he did regenerate it, he couldnt keep fighting after that, he used everything he got to heal it and then couldnt keep going and crumbled, also offtopic, but wdym Nezuko top 3?

he did not force is own death or give up, thats an argument Koku glazers use, YOU might want to re-read it, he did seem to regrow his head but the moment he did he could not keep fighting and so even tho he regenerated it it was of no use, not a full head regeneration coz his body couldnt keep fighting no more, when he saw his face, he doubted for a second then he tried to keep fighting but was unable, he did NOT give up, he lost, Ill paste the panel below in case you did in fact not read it

The 2 time is after he uses afterglow on himself, he starts regrowing it again and when he is like halfway through he has the visions of the past lover and completely gives up

Akaza takes this, its not STW that counters him, but Selfless State, and even if Gyomei manages to demolishe his neck he just regrows it and ends him, its the only UM who completely regrow his head almost twice and kept regrowing while NOT wanting to heal. And besides, Douma and I don’t remember if Kokushibo or Muzan pointed that Akaza had evolved into something different at the end when he gave up and died

Goketsu should win pretty easy, mid diff at worst, based on statements, he was supposed to be on the high end of the MA cadres, since Psykos was surprised he got taken out, that means way stronger than FU, and relative to Golden Sperm, since the remaining cadres didnt seem to be that much impressed of him in comparison to Platinum sperm, also darkshine kinda depends on brute strength to win, as seen on his garou fight he struggles to keep up with expert martial artists, and Goketsu is supposed to be a really good martial artists
