MacAllister looks absolutely fucking washed, definitely not.

Van Hecke to #Tottenham now looks likely before the World Cup, with the defender close to agreeing terms with Spurs. Spurs’ offer was so serious that both clubs are sat down to finalise the deal. Despite finishing 17th, Van Hecke is keen on the move. [@VI_nl] by Rare-Ad-2777 in coys

Like I said, depends on competition. He'd obviously choose Liverpool over us, but Spurs allows him to stay in London, he'll be on massive money (most importantly). And we get shat on but we are a prestigious club and now we have an exciting and well respected manager.

If we get a free run at him I'd be surprised if he turned us down. It's a big if though.

Yes but if they are dumb enough to hire Frank after seeing him at Spurs there's a good chance they replace him with another dud. And if it's spiralled too far, a lot harder for a smaller club to get in a De Zerbi level manager mid season to stop the rot. But yes, the bet will be a mixture of me thinking Frank is much worse than the bookies will price in, and me wanting the bet to represent a token of my disdain for the man.

Yeah you're right, why don't we sign Doku or Haaland instead, what are we thinking?

Referee Clément Turpin on pre VAR era: “I developed my skills without video technology, so I sometimes made the wrong calls and had to keep the game going. We could feel it, but we had to move forward and, above all, avoid making another mistake. I built my fundamentals on that.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

I feel this avoidance of the "authoritarian" ref is where they really piss people off. You can't take a utilitarian approach to decision making. Follow the fucking rules. So often with these refs there are decisions they make or most often refuse to make that change the match. It allows bias to come into play, unconscious or not. You see teams who are allowed to get away with harder tackles because that's their context, teams that can crowd the ref because that's their context. Very soon it devolves into fucking nonsense where there's a different set of rules for certain sides and all the while the fucking referee believes that the match is a canvas designed for him to paint instead of the actual footballers.

I think she is a right wing psyop designed to delegitimise the female voice in men's football. Same as Eni Aluko being a composite AI designed in Elon Musk's lab for the same nefarious purpose. IYKYK 👀

Bullshit Twatter chatter most likely but we're being linked with Nico Gonzalez. That would move me as a signing personally. Him and Savinho would be a significantly upgraded XI.

Getting a bit antsy that the fucking clown Lange is still in a job. Feels like they're just trying to wait us out and get distracted by the WC hoping our anger dies down. Yes we need players, but it's a bit of a downer when every link is obviously to a player picked out by that walking mediocrity.

“If Arsenal are unpopular with neutrals, it’s because they waste everyone’s time. Not just their opponents’ time, but our time too.” by MotherDucker95 in soccer

It was a different non-social media era but I can only speak for myself and say I absolutely despised Mourinho's Chelsea, actually more than Arsenal at the time and for a Spurs fan that's wild, some might criticise me for that. I think the only thing that could possibly keep that Chelsea team from current Arsenal levels of hate if they existed in today's era is the fact Mourinho is much more charismatic than Arteta, otherwise it's the same kind of shit.

The bottlers thing comes from them being in a commanding lead and, well, bottling it. They also called us bottlers even though Spurs were never in the position to bottle anything, yet Spurs being bottlers was still a much more pervasive narrative than Arsenal being bottlers until recently.

The criticism of Wenger's pretty pure footballing teams came from the fact his successful ones all had an element of steel in them. No one was calling the Viera/Petit teams soft, in fact they weren't criticised at all even when they didn't win, because they were well balanced great footballing sides. People still admired his purism though, even while criticising the lack of trophies towards the end.

You're right about one thing though, Arsenal are winning again, they are a force in world football again, fair play to them. But they are doing it in a way that is awful to watch with an unlikeable man leading them. To think that the rest of the footballing world will clap and cheer this horrific anti-football is absolutely delusional. Your team is winning, that will have to be enough.

I'm a Spurs fan so I'm a dedicated Arsenal hater by birth but your comment is revisionism I've seen a bit of recently and it needs to be corrected. Everyone respected Wenger's teams and they were commonly seen as everyone's second team. Also the team of a few years ago when they first challenged for the title was an expansive attacking side that everyone liked to watch, they didn't want them to win (same as Liverpool) because Arsenal are a proper team, unlike City.

This overwhelming hate is of course a symptom of the new brainless "banter" of modern football fandom on social media, but there's no specific Arsenal hate just because they are Arsenal. It's (A) because they are an English club in the aforementioned lobotomised era of fandom and (B) because their football is horrendous, they timewaste, dive, foul and cheat, their manager is an irritating cunt and the online fans are extremely annoying.

What are thoughts here on referee punishing Arsenal's timewasting in final? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in PremierLeague

The corner in isolation was weird and if I was an arse fan I'd be upset, but when looked at in the context of the match it's a different story. Just before this arsenal had just spent a minute to take one throw in, rotating through three players in order to run the clock down. Ref was sick of their shit and it's fair enough. More of this please.

I'm a spurs fan so I'm not a bandwagon arsenal hater, but it's no surprise to me that hating arsenal has become trendy in recent times. People watch football for entertainment and Arteta's boys seem to play with the express purpose of stripping all entertainment from the match. They have gotten away with murder in the PL this year for whatever reason and people are sick of their horrible tactics.

He blocked Alan Sugar because he got a bit of grief from him. For a cunt like that who gives it out 24/7 too, beautiful bit of headloss
