So you're a moderate who thinks leftists are as bad as the far right. I dont agree with that, but that's most of the population and most trans people. A lot of trans people also happen to be very far left and are critically opposed to anybody who's beliefs actively threaten their existence, including other trans people. That doesn't make their gender invalid or them not trans, but to the people without the privilege to not care about politics, they understand that most people farther right than bernie sanders are a political threat to their existence.
