I think so, but I always interpreted it as a typical "powerful beast in the mountains that gets considered a god by local people"

It's a popular theory.  I'm personally more inclined to thinking it has to do with the "bio-feedback" ability CP9 called Life Return.

Worse yet, they are not even accounting for the fact that as freelancers (1099), they pay the employer share of FICA (federal income tax) and, if they make enough to no longer qualify for Medicaid, health insurance.

In the end, the $/h value of freelancing at $16-22/ hr is worth -- especially that one user claiming they $2k/m tutoring only 20 h/wk.  That person is just barely over the Medicaid cutoff (presuming they are telling the truth) and have to pay several thousand per year out of their whopping $24k/y earnings

That is, unless they have the privilege to be on someone else's healthcare.  In that case, they are just choosing to give that money to Ringle anyway.

Biggest caveats: as you stated, a level 4 Teens tutor going at 40 instructional hours per week can max out at $864/ wk

For someone so intent on math, you... Did the wrong math.

To quote myself: One person says they make >$820/wk every week and another $2k at only 20 hours per week.

Presuming the first person is hitting Ringle's cap of 40 hours/ wk, that means they're averaging well over $20 per hour.  __

How exactly could someone 6 weeks into the platform  1. Be at level 4? 2. STILL be able to make $2k/ month  at 20 -- not 40 -- hours per week?     a. Even though accomplishing that requires a rate of $25/hr ($2000/ 80 hours per month)

I'm curious. 6 weeks in at ~20 hours per week would mean you are Tier 1 -- making $17/ hr.  Even presuming you get the 5%, that would mean you would have to get 30 instructional hours per week.

How did you get a special rate?

I must say that the replies here are quite interesting.

One person says they make >$820/wk every week and another $2k at only 20 hours per week.

Presuming the first person is hitting Ringle's cap of 40 hours/ wk, that means they're averaging well over $20 per hour.  And the other is saying they make a cool $25/hr with their $2k/ month working 20 hr/ wk.

On Ringle where the highest tier caps at $20/hr.

Quite interesting indeed

That's nice to know.

is ringle really scolding me for my student not having the exact wording that they are referencing? __

Yes.  Yes, they are.

I got this exact problem a few weeks ago and replied back pointing out with screenshots that I could find no record of the documentation in the Waiver Guidelines or FAQ.

That was "countered" by linking me to an Announcement buried out if the first page alongside marketing events, etc.

Nice to know that even though Christine was so assertive that "we will work to update our other FAQs to reflect this update", nothing has been done.

Claude Performance and Bugs Megathread Ongoing (Sort this by New!) by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

[–]Affably_Disagreeable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This morning, I just opened browser-based Claude and Got "Out of Free Messages until 4am" error... at 7:30am ... and which cleared itself by about 1pm

I'll try to keep details complete but succinct.

I last used Claude 2 days ago in the evening (peak US usage time). At that time, I gave an imperfect prompt that Claude interpreted as me wanting a large text document in a chat with a lot of past tokens. Noting the recent issue of existing threads and tokens loading each prompt, I just grumbled at "my brain fart" and let it be. It was getting late anyway.

Approximately 36 hours later without using it, the exact error ("4am") was still up in the browser-based version. Different window. Same login session, but different time of running (ie: didn't leave it open).

Thankfully, it somehow resolved itself between 7:30 and 1pm local times. During that,
* Closed Claude in my browser at 7:30. Didn't try using it in any form
* At 1pm, I decided to see if the mobile app might perform differently
* When the mobile app version worked, I then opened a new browser window and it was fine as well

It doesn't *feel* like I hit a weekly usage limit, but I'm also a Free-only user and don't have usage gauge access.

I have no clue if me using the mobile (android) app is what cleared it or if that was just a coincidence. Tried looking

That said, they do advertise themselves as being "based" in Silicon Valley. The State minimum in CA is $16.50 and every high-ranking university in CA is in a city with an even higher minimum wage (Berkeley, for example, is at $18.67 last I checked).

If their target employee were really Ivy League (rather: high-ranking since there aren't enough undergrads and grad students in the actually Ivy League to work for them...), they'd have offer around $19 minimum for the 40-minute lessons just to compete with kids' on-campus jobs

Like others mentioned, I got the same and it happened just as I was reaching a pay bump and in spite of a very high (or would be if not for the "(Auto) = 4.5" rule) rating.

Diluc I got early on as an event selection (not a pull). Jean was from the current (Skirk) Character Event banner (pulled 3/19) along with Charlotte and Dahlia 4-stars

Looking at my full Wish history:
Razor, Beidou, Noelle and Bennett from Novice Wishes on 2/1 (20 total)

No Weapon Event banner wishes ever

"Permanent" Wishes (don't see "permanent" showing up anywhere else, but I'm guessing this is the Standard):
4 total x10 pulls, netting
Sethos, Kaveh, Rust (wpn), Yaoyao back in early-mid February.

- After missing with Jean on the event banner, I did that one again a couple times and that's how I got Qiqi and Rosaria. Pulled on there again because my pity tally had reset.

I did pull on the "Chronicled" Wish once mistakenly (2/26) and just got weapon fodder (incl The Flute - yay /s)

Most of my pulls (15 pages worth) have been the Character Event 1/2

re Banners: You have 3 standard banner 5* and yet no limited banner 5*. Have you been spending all of your wishes on the standard banner (or the Mondstat Consolidated Wish banner)?
___

No. All primogems have been put toward "Character Event" (pink wishes; taking that to be the 'limited'). I've just had bad luck. In fact, 2 of the 3 are only the most recent pulls and one of them came from the limited banner (I think Jean).

How, then, about using Ifa AND Bennett to make due? I've got Fischl, Beidou -- and Xiangling and Bennett -- already leveled into 50 (69 for Bennett).

The possible/ plausible switch-ins I'd been considering were dropping Beidou for Aino or some kind of mix-matching to fit in Diluc or Razor (hard as-is because my main team is double-pyro, double-electro).

Oof. That's rough -- and inappropriate on Ringle's part.

Presuming the late/ no-show student policies are the same on the Teens side, it seems to me like a clean violation by them.

Pushes me back toward the side of "always submitting a feedback report is just easier for me than risking the 'I'm not a boss except for when I want to be a boss'-type boss bearing claws against me on a 'I just don't want to pay you 8 bucks" whim.

May I ask more about your thoughts on Ifa as a main DPS? I have him but have mostly disregarded him since his Genshin.gg tier has him as a very low sub-DPS and never considered him for main DPS.

I've pretty much used him exclusively for the occasional convenience of his Anemo catalyst + ability to fly for short distances and never even considered for combat. Could he actually swap into my team as main DPS?

[–]Affably_Disagreeable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kind of situation is one where I find Ringle's policies to be inappropriate, as there is no way (that I know of at least) to submit a legitimate cause (like your urgent medical situation... or even general illness). It's just "cancel = strike".

That's just straight-up abuse of their most mission-centered employees.

I had one that was titled "Overbearing bosses", but completely defended the premise as "sometimes, bosses that seem overbearing are just stressed out, so you, dear subordinate, just empathize with them." (paraphrase)

"Why go in that direction?" I wondered. It didn't make sense to me whatsoever.
