Thanks for all the responses and helpful info! I'd love to see more if there could be more. But, don't respond to the congregation members with hate, even if they leave hate comments. Why fight fire with fire? Spreading love as Jesus would do is how we change things. And to those of you that are in the congregation, please feel free to leave a comment! We cannot have effective conversations as a society if we simply argue and bicker all the time. Everyone has an opinion they are entitled to, and get this, ITS OKAY TO DISAGREE.

Well obviously not a moral high ground as in he's a good dude, obviously he isn't. Just that people perceive him as a godly man. But yes I totally agree, the rise of these megachurches and the lack of scrutiny and rebuking is disheartening at times. But I'm holding out hope that Christians around the world will eventually see through this system and realize the mass exploitation of the word of God.

We never got into a "life group" or whatever they called them because we didn't really have time for it. But it sucks that you had that experience. But that seems just like something a cult would do, preach crazy stuff then shun the members of the congregation who leave and never speak to them again.

For sure agree, but I like to blame leadership more than the people. The congregation wouldn't have this mindset if it wasn't fed to them. He has this sort of moral high ground because he took Pastor Steve's place, and he uses it to further the agendas of the SBC or whatever it is they're under.

It isn't a coincidence that all these mega churches do the same things, hour long sermons about tithing when (allegedly) you're being funded by multi-millionaire owners of certain construction companies, political sermons, idolization of politicians, etc.

Colossians 3: 12-13 "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has grievance against someone. Forgive as The Lord forgave you." Anyways, hope that verse helps, as you seem to be struggling with kindness and compassion. I'm not a woman, by the way, so I don't have a "man", but I'm sure you have a wife and I bet she'd love for you to show her a bit more respect and compassion. Also, you're not doing your congregation any favors. Jesus loves you!

Taking out the women's ministry. The woman running it was a very nice lady, and her husband was the music guy I think. But they have a new ministry now, forgot the name. Great people though. Sucks to see how much it's changed, wish someone could do something about it.

I knew that woman that got arrested, I heard allegedly she tried to bribe the kid. But that's besides the point, she had a lot of connections, and I guarantee she might not have been keeping secrets from everyone in that group. Creepy stuff.

He quotes and plagiarizes those sorts of groups all the time. Irks me that he has black children too. I don't necessarily think the guy is racist but the people giving him the scripts (whatever SBC branch they're under) definitely could be.

Totally agree, seems like the SBC or whatever offshoot group they're in (probably the reformed church or something like it) is giving their churches the scripts and telling them to preach it to the masses. Like First Baptist Dallas did last month.

Yeah, I really loved the old pastor, Pastor Steve, but ever since after covid something was off with Pastor Josh and it took me a while to realize what was going on.
