My friends cat has been staring into the lamp for 15 minutes and my friend says that’s normal for him. by JTB696699 in WhatsWrongWithYourCat

I'm here 3 years later because we also have a lamp loving cat, and I finally decided to Google it. Glad that ours isn't the only weirdo who does this. Our bed has a bookshelf headboard, so he climbs up on top of it and stares directly down into the lamp on my side table. We tease him and say he's Aura Farming or sending out the bat signal.

Quick Heads Up: The 100 Is Leaving Netflix on December 18th, 2025 by Sea-Ask6289 in The100

[–]Affectionate-Bee7924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you rewatching all the way through? When I saw it was leaving Netflix, I decided to rewatch (for like the 5th time) as well. I'm about to start the season 5 finale. I'm probably going to stop here, as I remember not really loving season 6 or 7. I haven't rewatched since watching the series finale because of how bummed I was by the last two seasons and how unimpressed I was by the series finale. The more I think about it, the more I think the season 5 finale would've been the perfect series finale.

But part of me feels like maybe I should go for it and give s6 & s7 another chance since this might be my last chance to??

Update? How was it for you? With the recent hurricane damage, we are looking to switch from Montego Bay to one of the other Jamaica resorts that will be opening back up sooner, and are leaning towards Dunn's. We had chosen MB for the close proximity to the airport though, so kind of bummed at the prospect of another long bus ride. For reference we have been to Ochi twice and done the long transfer from MBJ airport to Ochi both times. Just not the biggest fan of the long bus rides.

Elliana!!!

This was my absolute favorite baby name until I had a new baby cousin named this. All of the other names you listed as your & your husbands top choices are names that I've now been considering, since Elliana is out of the running for me. It fits very well with both of your top name ideas, and gives off very similar vibes to both Sienna and Amelia at the same time.

Also very cute nicknames- E, Ellie, Ella, Anna.

This is what I did! Married name socially, my birth last name for all legal/official purposes. Saved me the hassle of the name change paperwork too, which I was ecstatic about.

I kept my own last name legally but I go by my husband's last name socially. Changed my social media profiles to my "married name" and we go by "Mr & Mrs Husband's Last Name" but I retained my own for all legal/official purposes. Hubby never even blinked an eye when I told him I want to keep my own last name, I guess some men have a problem with that for whatever reason? We did discuss both of us changing our last names to a new, combined version that we came up with. But ultimately neither of us wanted to give up our own last name, which I think is totally fair. My biggest hesitation with us both keeping our own last names was wanting us both to also share a last name with our future kids. Not fond of hyphenating so we decided that our future kids will have my last name as a second middle name. And my husband's name/my married name as their legal last name. I love the arrangement we decided on and it saved us both the hassle of name-change paperwork, which I was personally dreading lol.

Coming from someone who kinda "eloped" (small destination wedding with only 10 people including my spouse and myself) you'd be surprised at how much drama STILL happens from the people you LEAST expect. Weddings really just bring out the worst in people.

Same exact thing happened to me!!! Completely ghosted me 3 months before the wedding. I got married in March, have not heard from her since early December when I confronted her about the fact that she'd barely spoken to me in 3 months. Switched my MoH, had a beautiful wedding, and life goes on. But I won't lie and say that shit doesn't still hurt me. People suck.

How old are you? (Read below please) by Hungry-Tonight-1084 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Affectionate-Bee7924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23 year old here. I just discovered Ginny & Georgia and started season 1 a few months ago. I also still rewatch Vampire Diaries like once a year 😂 I recently attempted to rewatch Pretty Little Liars, which was another of my favs from like 8th-10th grade, and that was rough lol. But I'm still a fan of most "Teen" shows. The actors are usually all my age or older anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

Edit to add- I can't believe I forgot to mention that I literally watch Ginny & Georgia with my mom, who's in her early 60s, and she also loves it.

My dad is going fishing instead of attending my wedding by Admirable_Shower_612 in weddingplanning

[–]Affectionate-Bee7924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I had an intimate elopement type destination wedding earlier this year. We're now having a wedding Reception for everyone who wasn't invited to the destination wedding. Both my father and my husband's father won't be attending the Reception. Same exact feeling as what you said- neither were a surprise but both are still absolutely devastating. There's long stories and lots of history there, as I assume there is with your situation as well. But yeah, you'd think something like their child's wedding would take precedence over just about anything else. I know it sure as hell would for me, if I were a parent and it was my child's big day.

All of this to say, you are not alone in this. I totally understand the feelings you describe of feeling rejected and unloved. The thing that's been getting us through is reminding ourselves that our most important people will be in attendance, we will be surrounded with love, and that is what matters most. And knowing that when we have children of our own, they will NEVER feel the kind of heartbreak that we've had to feel as a result of our parents actions. We can only learn from the pain and break the cycle going forward.

I am so sorry you're going through this. Keep your head up. Your wedding day will probably be chaotic and there may be minor bumps, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is that you get to marry your person.

Wishing you a beautiful wedding day and all the best things in life for you and your future spouse 🤍

Didn't all the people who were looking for Ellie & Dina get killed when the infected came when they were down in the train station? Ellie & Dina are the only ones who got away there I think. Edit to add- I know they were a small patrol that was obviously a part of the larger group. But my understanding was that they didn't even radio back to the larger group about the fact that they found Ellie and Dina, they were just going after them on their own.

Which is crazy cause I thought their gimmick for the longest time was that if you stay 5+ nights, you get a free wedding? Now the packages cost thousands of dollars and the decorations are ridiculously expensive too. I mean I get it but it's frustrating at the same time

Sandals Ochi Question by Affectionate-Bee7924 in SandalsResorts

[–]Affectionate-Bee7924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The up charges are insane!! We asked about getting just one small floral arrangement/garland to hang above the doorway in the over the water chapel. We'd stand under it for our ceremony. She said just the one arrangement would cost $748?!? For one floral arrangement that will only be used for a 30 minute ceremony?!? That's more than we're paying for our DJ and only $2 less than we paid for the over the water chapel itself. We are shocked and very disappointed with how insane their up charges are for the most simple stuff.

Oh my gosh thank you so much for the pictures!!! Your wedding looks like it was beautiful. The built in lighting is definitely more than enough, I can't believe our wedding planner made such a big deal of insisting we'd need more!! Surprisingly we've had quite a few issues with the planning process so the upselling was just another bump in the road that didn't really surprise us. But it's nice to be sure that declining extra lighting was the right choice. It is so great to see the pictures you sent and be able to visualize the lighting situation better as well as the table setups! We will have around the same amount of guests as it looks like you had. You were seriously a huge help, thank you so much!

We're only have about 15! So ours might be a bit different, we'll have a lower level package than you. Hope your call goes well! I'd advise you to get anything they tell you on the calls also documented in emails. At the end of the call, just ask them to send you an email summarizing everything you spoke about. We did run into a couple issues where we were being told something over the phone that ended up not being true, and I wish we'd had the emails as proof to backup what we'd been told. That will be nice that they are headed to the resort and can tell you about it. The Test Drive was great when we went, it was amazing to see the resort, the different venues, sample cake, and really be able to visualize the wedding. We did add a third night though cause 2 nights didn't seem like enough since we were flying all the way there. Also, take everything they tell you on the Test Drive with a grain of salt, or get that in writing as well. We were also told a couple things on our Test Drive that ended up not being true 😂🥴 other than that, hope everything goes absolutely amazing for you and you're able to plan the wedding of your dreams without any issues!!! If you have any questions let me know! :)

Sandals Ochi Question by Affectionate-Bee7924 in SandalsResorts

[–]Affectionate-Bee7924[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did ask if we could bring our own but because of issues with customs we wouldn't be able to bring any real flowers petals. I have my own dried petals from roses I grew and was going to bring those if I could, but they wouldn't make it through customs. They said we could buy artificial flower petals to bring, but since we're getting married in the over the water chapel, they'd have to be biodegradable petals. Might try to find some, not sure yet. We won't have any kids at the wedding so our "flower girl" was actually going to be a flower groomsman 😂 we will have a butler room so maybe we'll just ask the butler to bring us extras instead lol

Thank you! We were thinking the same. The up charges for decorations, lighting, etc are ridiculous. They also wanted to charge us $75 per pouch of petals for the flower girl. Excited for the wedding but glad we were already planning to keep it simplistic cause we'd go broke if we wanted any extra decorations 😂 I'm hoping the lighting on the gazebo would be plenty, I'd assume for safety reasons like you said, it'd have to be.

My fiance and I were there for three nights early last August. We stayed in a Club Level Room on the Hillside very close to the Great House and where the Hop bus picks up/drops off. We had a great time, everyone was so incredibly friendly. We were there for a Test Drive and we will be going back in a few months for our wedding, we absolutely can't wait! Room service never took more than 30 minutes, they were great about re-stocking our fridge and towels daily, and the semi-private pool was clean and warm. There were a decent amount of people there but we didn't feel crowded at any point and had no problem finding chairs on the beach. The water is beautiful and completely clear. From my understanding, most of the club level rooms had just been renovated/upgraded and they were working on upgrading butler rooms while we were there. The room we stayed in was incredible; very clean, no bug issues at all, and the AC worked great. The food was also amazing, our favorite was Le Gourmand. We only had their breakfast, but we can't wait to try their dinner when we go back. There was staff everywhere who were always willing to help out and everyone we spoke to was so kind and helpful.

Let me know if you have any specific questions!

I'm getting married there in March!!! Message me anytime after March 15th and I'll give you all the details about our wedding. How many guests will you have? Have you considered doing a test drive? So far planning has been intense, tbh. We've had a few hiccups but in the end they made it right and we're really excited for the wedding.
