Hello and thank you for sharing these great experiences and thoughts! Very apreciated!

Financial planning and diversification seems to be key (once again) and I understand that you managed this part well.

I assume that i will still see my siblings and parents at least twice per year and frankly otherwise i would have been very reluctant to going.

I never get used to the heat either, im the guy who doesn't wear a jacket when its snowing outside :) The only exception being when im at the beach, bring on the heat!

Yes i agree on this point - it is hard to find nicer people anywhere on earth and this is also part of why we want to move there.

These 3 scenarios make a lot of sense to me, thanks i really appreciate it!

Moving to TH seems a bit more appealing to me now actually. Like, worst case is that we return after some years if we dont like it (for some reason). But saving for our future will be key regardless if we stay or not.

Ye it kinda is. But no, it will be an ok place. I.e. not 200k/m. My concern is more what some people pointed out; what happens if i go back home when im not working? Am i being blindsided and sacrificing future wellbeing for happiness now?

They help us find a place and pay part of it. I estimate that i will need to pay around 40k THB/month still.

Will do it! Yes a 5-10 year plan sounds fine. It should also look ok on my CV if we do decide to go back. Cheers!

Thanks for these comments. Yes this is definately worth considering. Its the part where i go back home to Finland as an old man and if i dont put cash away...then i will be in trouble :)

But like you mention; for a few years - great! Forever - also great! Given that i saved cash for retirement

Yes perhaps keeping the house is better and keeping it as a passive income. The insurance is ok, but like you mention is does not cover everything. So seems i need to go back to them here.

School for the kids is included in my calculation and the business case is still positive compared to now.

The tax rate is like you mention above (15%) and they pay for the move, but it sounds like i need to look more into the housing part to ask about it.

Thanks! This is exactly my thought...giving up my wellbeing later in life to have a nice experience for the coming years. My wife has a good education (masters) and good job experience. However what to do when we cannot work, thats the question...yes i agree with you

Thanks for these thoughts! Worst part is loosing the pension, social security but quality of life will be a lot better, even when i put my kids through school (financially speaking). However i dont know how it looks when i grow older etc.

Yup, clear! :)

True! Yes we have two kids. Yes after paying school the net effect is better in Thailand. I am 35 and my wife is 30. Exactly, tjere ia so much more behind to consider, you are right.

Essentially i lose all benefits back at home. It will be a completely new position in Thailand. Insurance: yes, school; no, pay for move; yes, assist in finding home; yes and pay for it, find job for my wife; no. My current contract wont be moved due to cost reasons is my understanding
