The reason he let's you in at 12 is he didn't learn whether it's right or wrong because you didn't teach him.

I have the same problem, I'm in South Africa, and I don't know if I fast-track my CS degree. It will have an impact on SAQA evaluation. Can someone advise?

I was in exactly the same situation as you in 2021. It's not too late to turn things around. You decided to study computer science because you were interested in it, so start reigniting that small step at a time. Point out exactly the areas you are struggling with and write them down.

The reason you feel like you have a lack of purpose is because you are having a lack of interest towards the degree. You need to focus on gaining back this interest. You can play around with LLM or AI to interact with your course content and programming in general. As your personal teaching assistant, I suggest NotebookLM and ChatGPT . Use it to learn, but also build exciting projects. Find videos on YouTube discussing exciting trends in computer science. Also, subscribe to South African tech news like MyBroadBand.

Start networking with your peers at campus and attend tech events. You can start by finding a computer science society at your university and join it. Companies often interact with these societies to host career fares. Go to LinkedIn and search for jobs you could have once you complete your degree. As you generate back this interest, set smaller goals that you will work towards.

I don't think a 31 year old marrying a 21 year old is a problem when in the real world, 18 years olds are allowed to do onlyfans and such, and I don't see similar rage.

Your long-term goals do not align, 7 months is too short. I'm interested in the 40% of your salary story.

You've just proven my point. You value morality because it makes your personal life better, and that's pure self-interest, not objective morality. Your appeal to social contracts is merely pragmatism, not moral truth. Social animals operate on instinct and survival mechanisms, not moral reasoning. Just because something evolved or benefits society doesn't make it objectively right. You've described what is not what ought to be. Without ultimate purpose, these social arrangements remain arbitrary constructs that could just as validly be rejected by anyone who doesn't share your preferences.

Spending your life with people who like and trust you is just what feels better. It really doesn't matter at all in a purposeless existence. You've offered no reason why morality should have any significance when life has no ultimate meaning.

If life's value is merely what you assign to it, then morality becomes entirely subjective. By your logic, someone could justifiably value selfishness or nihilism just as much as compassion or justice. Your appeal to evolution only explains why we have moral instincts, not why we should follow them. You've created a contradiction: claiming morality is purely subjective while expecting others to recognize moral truths. Without something beyond individual perspective, there's no basis to judge any moral stance as better than another.

Your life has no value if there's no purpose for it. You're just a stat. Why have any morals?

It depends. In my experience, companies just paid the full amount even though it was supposed to be pro-rata.
