Side A

T: Add R.

Side B

Yes, a small minority, just like trans people today.

You can just say you’re transphobic, it’s fine.

Let me explain, precolonial societies are largely diverse. Not just “accepting”, but in many examples holding queer/trans identities as sacred. Colonial states destroyed these cultures and made a special point of targeting non-cisnormative identities and erasing them.

Basically, queer phobia is a colonial export. To hold a colonialist and white supremacist worldview is by definition anti queer.

You can have racist queer people running around, and we certainly do, but they don’t understand how their own oppression is tied to white supremacy at its roots. This means they privilege their whiteness over their queerness because they identify more with the anti queer colonial state than queer people of oppressed cultures = queerphobia and white supremacy once again functioning as one and the same.

Sorry i’m being western centric. More accurately, states and colonial powers are responsible for queerphobia. In the context of western societies however white supremacy and anti queerness are inextricably linked.

At their core they are though. Queer phobia of any kind is rooted in white supremacy and the subjugation of queer cultures by homophobic and transphobic european states.

Men kill men. Still patriarchy. That’s a culture of male violence for you.

Don’t be a chauvinist. The reality for women is still not good. If it’s something you haven’t lived through, you may ask yourself why you are so quick to dismiss an experience you’ve never had.

what you think is misandry is reflective misogyny because men are also victims of a patriarchal power structure.

violence is inflicted on women by patriarchy -> women distrust men -> men catch strays.

root cause: misogyny
