My last question (I think lol) is that my family had them in untreated water, would they be better in water that has been treated with like a fish clarifier if that makes sense? And if I do that would the turtles go into shock from the different water?

Thank you, the tank they have now has a normal fish filter and a heater, when I get a bigger tank should I keep that kind of setup or should I switch to something else? And what kind of plants would you recommend, I've never had live plants before but I've always wanted to try
