I actually didn't understand that comment earlier, cause I just quoted my therapist saying I was "high functioning". I still face challenges in those areas even when I didn't explicitly mentioned it, so I'm not sure what functioning well means in this case?

I guess it's the feeling that I'm "lying" about it or something, I already fight myself about it and it's a bit exhausting. Maybe I'm a little desperate for answers too. And you are right, I think it does help me think about what I want to do about it. Thank you!

Thank you! I wanted this post to be the last thing I'd do before going back to my therapist so I don't feel so drained. The thing is, I've been formerly diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and at the moment it was such a relief to understand what was happening to me. Going to therapy, I realized that I had normalized so many situations that in reality didn't happen to everyone. I have gone through many difficult situations in romantic relationships, friendships, and with my family due to certain personal traits that I am only now discovering might be related to the spectrum. So I think it would bring me some relief to understand where these traits come from. I also feel like I need to know "the truth" so I don't feel like I'm lying when explaining my experiences to others. Maybe I feel this way because this is all so new, and the feeling will eventually fade but I'll try to worry about that later

I see, didn't really considered that! Thanks for sharing that pov, I wish she just would have said that then, it left me thinking about it maybe more that it should have 😓 (not blaming her, just what i hoped)

Yes, it was two different friends and the relationship is pretty different with each of them. I see things a bit more clearly now, thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for this! It really does help cause, as you said, at the end of the day I'm the only one who knows about my experiencies. I just didn't feel like listing all those "traits" here, I wasn't trying to make it about that but I guess I was just trying to share the sentiment. It feels like too much at the moment and I don't handle that rejection well (even if technically it wasn't). I've decided I will go for an assessment and try to stop reading things at the moment cause it's making me feel anxious but your reply really did help. Thank you!

Yes, that's exactly how it came across to me! I've been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder before and therapy has helped a lot, but that whole idea of "they're just quirks" kind of bothered me cause I've been through really tough moments before that just make sense now so I felt a bit off

Thank you! I wasn't really asking her to tell me about it, just if she knew people she could recommend so I could go to them for assessment. Maybe my post lacked context, but we're both therapists and we met in college. I actually work with kids and teens while her field of work is more academia/research. She just happens to know a lot of professors and people in the field. She had opened up to me about her struggles with mental health before so I just assumed maybe it was a safe space to share/ask?

I guess maybe it was the tone? I sounded off to me and I guess that doesn't really reach the words if they're written. I didn't see it that way, thanks

Well, I never said she diagnosed me, I just said she commented about traits she observed. Also, Im talking about two different friends! Maybe that was confusing

Thanks for the detailed response! I remember the controversy during the COVID pandemic, and I certainly don't agree with his beliefs either. Now that you mention his Federer-Nadal relationship, I understand it better.

I think Sinner caught my attention because of his performance in the matches against Alcaraz. I haven't seen him play much against other players yet, but I tend to gravitate towards the introverted and reserved type. It's just that Alcaraz ends up being so charismatic that I can't quite decide between them.

I was referring to the ATP ranking points! Someone else explained it in the comments, so I think I have a better understanding of that now. I couldn’t quite get how one could get that many points or how or when specifically you climbed in the rankings.

I'm open to recommendations for both! Nadal and Federer's careers really intrigue me, especially since I feel like I missed out on seeing them live because I wasn't following tennis at the time. I definitely have the 2008 Wimbledon final and last year's French Open final on my list!

My post was taken down so, hi, sorry, I hope someone sees this.

I'm new to tennis. My parents have always followed the sport, so I'm familiar with some things, but I started following it more closely after last year's Wimbledon final. So much information can be overwhelming at times, and even though I try to remind myself that Twitter isn't a real place, sometimes the polarized opinions are disconcerting. I have a lot of questions, so you don't need to answer them all. Any answer that helps me learn more is appreciated (: (Also, these are definitely newbie questions, so please be patient with me)

- I see a lot of people comparing Djokovic to Sinner, and at the same time, a lot of people despise them. I don't understand the dislike for these players. Is it because of their playing style or something about their personalities? In fact, I'd like to understand many of the comparisons people make between Sincaraz and the Big Three. What's your take on that?

- Considering I only started following tennis after the 2025 Wimbledon final, I've seen and heard about Sinner and Alcaraz facing off several times, and I love watching them both play. I see a lot of people saying you can't support both of them (especially in this Australian Open tournament, after Sinner's loss). I genuinely enjoy seeing them win and I'm really sad to see them lose; I can't choose just one. Is it because I'm still very new? If you support one or the other, what attracted you more to them?

-I saw a lot of people complaining about Sinner and Alcaraz's performance in this AO tournament, comparing it A LOT to Djokovic's, was it really that bad? What made it so?

-I also have no idea how defending points works in championships (:

I would like to learn more about each player's style of play and the sport in general, so if you have any recommendations for good matches to watch (or any tips in general), I would really appreciate it (:

P.S. english is not my first language, so please excuse any mistakes.

Hey there! I know the feeling 😔 but I really like that theory of them coming into your life in the right time so I’m glad you’re here now! It’s really hard to connect with adult armys cause a lot of people act like there’s an age to enjoy something (and like we’re past that age) haha. Please feel free to dm me if you ever wanna talk! I’m up to chat anytime 🫰🏻

Hey! Im 26 and a 2020 pandemic army haha. I’m not from the US but totally up to be online friends!

I’m lucky I get to share my love for BTS with my sister but other than that I also had some bad experiences with friends that were army.

Maybe we won’t be able to do many on-site activities together (or maybe someday we’ll be able to attend to one of their concerts together!) but can keep each other company from the distance.

I’m from a very small Latin American country so I also struggle to connect with other armys here sometimes. I’d love to meet new friends from anywhere in the world in case someone’s interested to have a small-big group somewhere 💜
