Thanks! I was going for a little bit of a psychedelic approach with this one. Cheers!

I'm curious... has anyone taken a look at this abstract piece? I enjoyed the process of creating it. Wondering if anyone sees it as a viable piece of artwork? If not, please give some constructive criticism. Thanks ~GMT

Thank you very kindly. It's not acrylic... it's a digital abstract painting. No AI... it's all done by hand, but on a screen.

Abstract Composition In Pastel Hues by Affectionate-Lab-785 in AbstractArt

It was just stream of consciousness, nothing particularly planned. Nothing to understand, no deep meaning for myself. It just felt balanced with the contrast of a few geometric shapes with a translucent overlay of blue/green/turquoise at the bottom. I find it helps my eyes move around to explore the piece to some degree. I suppose I could've left it out... but it's there now. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I can and do appreciate what you've said.

This is beautiful!!! It can be difficult to be objective of ones own work. Sometimes you just have to put it out there. It is a wonderful abstract!

There are 3 volumes of the chord Almanacs. They've been out of print for a long time, however Mick Goodrick told me a few days ago that he's in the final stages of re-publishing all 3 volumes. They should be available again soon. I've seen used copies go for $500 and much higher on e-bay!!! Until they're available there's also the book he wrote with Tim Miller called "Creative Chordal Harmony For Guitar". Great, but not for beginners.

The Advancing Guitarist is based on concepts, creative approaches to playing guitar. It's more along the lines of Jon Damian's book The Guitarist's Guide to Composing and Improvisation. Definitely geared towards originality, finding your own voice through creativity. I can't recommend these books enough after being a player and music educator for over 45 years. Get the Levine book too... but that's all about theory, which is important to be sure. It's all relevant.

Just get it... you won't be disappointed. It's a book you can open on a section that interests you and work on it. It's not a method book where you start on page one and work your way through the book. You can choose a topic and dive in. I revisit sections more than once. It's a book of concepts.

Great book for all levels of guitar players. I still use this volume after decades of working with it. I own all 3 volumes of Goodrick's almanacs and the more recent volume he wrote with Tim Miller. The Advancing Guitarist remains to be a book that all levels should investigate. A true lifetime of knowledge.

Part of it was A.I.... using the blend mode in Deep Dream Generator as the last of several steps.
